You’ve got to be one of the most self absorbed narcissistic people to walk the earth and completely buy into your own hubris if you look at the job and casually think “piece of cake... I got this”.There isn't a POTUS we have ever had who who wasn't an alpha. Can you imagine the set of stones you must have to think you can and should be the leader of this country?

I think you just hit the nail on the head. No one of character and true leadership would want it.There has to be ego and lust like you wouldn't believe to put yourself and family through what it takes to become president. Most of us wouldn't believe it was worth the abuse. I can't see anyone with real character willing to face it.

Oh and I’ve enjoyed sitting back and laughing at this thread today![]()
I’m quite certain FDR scoffed at anybody who might consider him not up to the task.I wouldnt be surprised if Taft thought it would be a piece of cake
Good point there at the end. That’s how we’re getting Biden. And if they do that, they’ll split the Republican vote with whatever is left of the party and Republicans will never win another election. Not enough radicals to win as a party by itself. But you might be correct. Never discount paranoia, insanity and ego when it all runs together.
Judge Ludwig denied the state’s claims that the campaign lacked standing. Instead, he gave the campaign the hearing they asked for — the opportunity to call witnesses and submit damning exhibits. Yet, when it got down to brass tacks, the morning of the hearing, it turned out there was no actual disagreement between the Trump team and Wisconsin officials about the pertinent facts of the case. The president’s counsel basically said: Never
mind, we don’t need to present all our proof . . . we’ll just stipulate to all the relevant facts and argue legal principles.
When it became clear, however, that the court was willing to entertain the president’s case but would scrutinize it closely, the Trump team quickly dropped the First Amendment and Due Process claims. In addition, as Ludwig recounts, the president’s counsel “offer[ed] no clue of a coherent Equal Protection theory,” and “offered neither evidence nor argument to support such a claim.
It has become an article of faith among ardent Trump followers that the election was stolen . . . But every time a court offers him an opportunity to establish by proof what he is promoting by Twitter, Team Trump folds. Why is that?
I'm still amused by all the people who said Trump would accept election defeat.@hog88 thinks it's fine. He "believes" that Trump's failure to concede is irrelevant. (he actually knows better but is torn between hypocrisy and admitting he was wrong) In pure Trumpian fashion, hog picked hypocrisy.
Q believers will believe anything. Abe Lincoln told them not to believe everything on the internet and they refuse to listen.Trump Campaign Wisconsin Election Lawsuit: Court Rejects Allegations | National Review
The Marxist goons over at the National Review with a pretty good write up of the recent Wisconsin decision. The Trump-appointed judge went out of his way to give the Trump campaign's claims a full and fair hearing.
Then the judge said, sure, tell me what your principle objections are and the Trump team withered again.
I don’t remember you complaining when Democratic leaders were questioning the legitimacy of the election in 16. Remind me, when did that stop?
I don't count trying to get the Supreme Court and state legislators to overturn the results as accepting the loss. There's a big difference between "exhausting legal options" and straight up trying to bully Republicans into overturning your defeat. There's no doubt that if this came down to one state, instead of several, this would have been a much uglier, scarier fight. It depends on what you mean by accept. I had my doubts he would ever say "I lost." I had zero doubt he would willingly vacate office.
I agree. I just never bought some of the hand ringing that he wouldn't leave on Inauguration DayI don't count trying to get the Supreme Court and state legislators to overturn the results as accepting the loss.
