Silver, as well as any pundit in other industries (Bill Connelly comes to mind for sport) that makes their living by ascribing data-driven probability to outcomes, has the absolute greatest job in the world.

This isn't to say that Nate Silver isn't a very smart individual with an exhaustive process and some great insights, but the man rose to international prominence after getting all 50 states correct in 2012 with his methodology. I feel that it's completely justified to roll one's eyes upon hearing the defense that Silver "was actually correct" since he was "merely saying that Hillary had a great chance of winning, which she did, while simultaneously giving Trump a narrow shot that came to pass."

It's truly amazing to have created an empire wherein being right is right while being wrong is also right due to something unlikely having occurred.
