My Take on Biden

I was in grad school in the late 1980s, and at that time I thought academic integrity meant something. At the time, I could not get past Biden's plagiarism and false statements regarding his academic record. I guess a lot of people don't think that's a big deal. To each his/her own. I believed Robert Bork to be a qualified nominee for the Supreme Court and, although understanding that the "A word" was (and continues to be) part of the political divide and that alone made Bork's confirmation unlikely, I was absolutely disgusted with Biden's refusal to rise above party and stand as a true "moderate" and instead to side with the group that went out of its way to disparage Bork at every turn. Some news outlets now are showing the old clips of Biden's gaffes like it's "news," but they were well-known then as well. To his credit, when he didn't get the nod in 88, he claimed it was his own fault, but Joe Biden has never been able to get out of his own way. Biden had an aneurysm and brain surgery about the same time as my cousin, who is fortunate to have lived this long and whom I have watched suffer for years. After that, I tempered my dislike of Biden somewhat, but I honestly felt relief in thinking (at the time), well, at least he'll never be a player for President, Delaware can have him, and people won't have to deal with his crap anymore. Then 2008 happened. I remember people saying they were going to vote for Obama because they liked Biden so much, a sentiment which I could not even fathom.

When the Dems started campaigning, I honestly thought (cynical me) that someone in Biden's family was wanting him to keep making a fool of himself in order to get POA or something based on diminished mental capacity. My thought was that somebody in his family who loves him just has to shut him up because this is getting bad. I guess it's not bad to some people. I have no use for Biden, and it has nothing to do with a "creepy Joe" or "sleepy Joe" talking point. I think he is someone who processes information for oratory only and who has no concept of reality: it's an alternate universe with him, and it's been the same deal as long as I've paid attention to political developments.

Uh Oh: VP Hopeful Kamala Harris Faces Credibility Crisis Over What She Said About Biden’s Accusers Last Year

As I wrote this morning, there is a rather large amount of hypocrisy on display by Joe Biden’s female vice presidential hopefuls on the issue of former Biden Senate staffer Tara Reade’s allegations that he sexually assaulted her in Washington, D.C. back in 1993.

In particular, Sen. Kamala Harris’s definitive declarations in 2018 about the alleged believability of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s sexual assault allegations against then-SCOTUS nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh makes her particularly vulnerable now to accusations that she’s treating Reade’s claims differently than Ford’s out of nothing more than raw political ambition.

As it turns out, Harris’s credibility issues on the #BelieveAllWomen question are more pronounced than many of us first thought. Why? Because a year ago when numerous allegations of inappropriate touching and sniffing were being made against Joe Biden by a number of Democratic women on the record, Harris stated … she believed them:

That a very astute description of how ( IMO ) but it’s not about him . The left is pick Not Trump and for that all important VP selection of Joe’s . The sad part is , Joe is just the wedge they are using to crack open the block with . I don’t blame the lefts voters , or even the DNC ( it is what it is ) , but it comes out that he has dementia I will blame his wife because she knows right now if he does or not .
