2020 Presidential Race

Yup. At some point, it doesn’t matter how good the economy is. Patriotic people are going to be embarrassed having an objectively ignorant president.
The Bill Clinton comparison is damning for Trump. It shows that with a strong economy, most Americans will overlook personal misbehavior from a President, and still express their approval for him. Trump has been the exception to this. His approval ratings have been a very steady 40-45% for over two years now. Trump famously once said that he could shoot someone in the middle of Park Avenue (or was it 5th Avenue? I guess it doesn't matter, same premise.) and his lead over Republicans in the polls wouldn't go down. The reverse also appears to be true. He could walk across the Hudson River with a 1% unemployment rate in his pocket, and his Real Clear Politics Average Approval Rating would still never get above 46%.

In every presidency since Eisenhower, the President has held an approval rating of over 50% at some point... except for Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford and Donald Trump. That is some 1 term company that Trump is keeping.

It is also very unusual for an incumbent President to be holding a re-election campaign rally this far out from the general election. Barack Obama didn't hold his first re-election campaign rally until November of 2011 by comparison.
He knew the African American vote was in the bag.

By any previous standard, June 18th (of the year prior to the general election) is very early for a sitting President to begin actively campaigning. As a matter of fact, Trump once criticized Obama in a December of 2011 tweet for campaigning instead of governing.

Trump has received unparalleled negative coverage. It's no surprise his approval ratings stay below 50%. Of course the same ones here talking about these ratings were also saying he couldn't win in 2016 because he was always behind hillary in just about every single poll

Okay. That doesn’t change anything in regards to my statement. Over 90% of the African Americans who voted did so for Obama. (95% in 2008 93% in 2012)

I assure you I never said that, however I will now say he has a 39% chance

Your statement doesnt change when Trump is starting his campaign. Candidates start now. Incumbents can start 6 months later because they have the national stage.

Hitlarry had a 98% chance of winning in 2016 and she got decimated. All I know is that I'm going to record CNN, NBC, MSNBC, ABC and CBS on election night in 2020 just so I can make out takes and post them on YouTube, assuming they allow me to post them.

Probably won't be allowed anymore

Well,..I said he had 39% chance now, but I think that in real world terms that means 0%.

Trump deserves every bit of that negative coverage, he's a corrupt, lying scumbag. Fortunately the media does their job and holds him accountable.

If by doing their job you mean lying and pretending their opinions are news then we have forever lost the media in this country. The media spent 8 years never questioning barry on anything and has spent 3 years being ruthless scumbags.

Seems like prior presidents were not smart in regards to time management.

Trump had an opportunity to be the outsider; not beholden to party and make the tough decisions career politicians were unable to make. Instead, we got more spending, more tweets, and more of the same.

I don't care if he wins of loses 2020.

If you're an incumbent president who has to worry about re-energizing the base this far away from the election, then something has been wrong with your message up to this point. Trump has only been in office for 2 years and 5 months.

Which is?

The question I would like answered is, where does the democrat party go once obstruction is proven to be false as well?

I didn’t vote for trump, but if you can’t at least admit the change in the negative press from the msm between how they covered Obama & Trump, then there is no point in having a conversation.

I know when I answer polls I say the complete opposite of what I actually believe.

And he spent every bit of it under an investigation started by his political adversary. Not a normal thing that has happened in America before.

If anyone can name 5 more corrupt and self serving cabinet members from any recent administration (since Ford) than this group:

Scott Pruitt (EPA Administrator)
Tom Price (Secretary of Health and Human Services)
Ryan Zinke (Secretary of the Interior)
Elaine Chao (Secretary of Transportation)
Betsy Devos (Secretary of Education)

... then I would love to see the list. "Drain the swamp?" .... Yeah, whatever.

I can't name 5 from anybody's cabinet. Not that important. Having said that, I would put up Holder and Lynch against any of them.
