The wide receivers as a group next year seem like they have the talent to be top 5 in the SEC next year.. but they also have the inexperience to be in the bottom 5 of the sec. I’m more confident in the group because I think Palmer is gonna be a great leader and really raise his draft stock, kid is so talented. Then I think guys like Keyton and Hyatt will be key contributors as well. You also have wild cards like Gibbs, B. Johnson, and Velus. Nobody really knows what they’re gonna bring to the table. (Also depends on who is throwing these guys the ball.)
what are your thoughts on this position group for next year?

Won't really know what we have until the season starts. I do agree the QB needs to throw the ball where the receivers have a chance to catch the ball.

They will be good possibly great.

Palmer should continue to get better.

What I'm hearing about Gibbs is that he is super talented.

Brandon Johnson didn't show anything last season (RS) but two years before he led the team in receiving.

Keyton showed us what he could do in bowl game.

Tillman, Hyatt, Holiday (I think), and the Joneses will give us good depth.

Velus Jones was a great return man for USC.

Miles Jones hasn't shown much in his short college career at Nebraska but he has been compared to Pig Howard with size, and elusiveness. Could be a matchup problem in the slot.

With the OL and running game looking to be vastly better, LBs will have to place more focus on those areas. I expect that to help receivers get open more easily and for TEs to catch a whole lot more passes next season. TEs have been virtually non-existent the last two seasons and that should change drastically next season.

I like how you think. I agree. Hopefully Gibbs is that next “dawg” on our team.

Lack experience big time, I will say Liability but might be offset by better QB play.

OL/RBs should be very strong too so not too worried even if it is a weaker year for WRs

Too many unknowns to say.

This also doesn't have to be another qb debate thread.
Whenever people post about the passing attack for next year it will lead to a QB debate thread. Unless the freshman is as good as his five star rating and he wins the job out right. Can't wait til spring game myself along with a thousands
of other Vol fans. I might even go to this one.

In the middle. Thought we had the 3rd best WR group in the SEC in 2019 (behind LSU and Bama). Probably more middle of the pack in 2020. If we're top 5 team (in the SEC) at WR, that's a pleasant surprise (like the DL this year).

Though, we're still not necessarily done recruiting at WR. Not sure if any of the Freshmen will have a significant impact, but we could conceivably finish with one of the better WR classes out there.

Brandon Johnson redshirted last year

Anyone know the expectations for the freshman TE’s. (Lowe,Warren & Brown)
Anyone of these guys have potential as a real receiving threat ? I’m not a fan of Pope ever since that fumble in 2018.
