2020 Chevrolet Corvette revealed with mid-engine design, bargain price

For a Chevy, it's not bad looking.

The bargain is that you get the performance of a Ferrari/Lambo/AMG/M/McClaren, etc. for a fraction of what the exotics cost.

I just hope Chevy doesn't go full retard and advertises the new Corvette with "real people, not actors" commercials.

$60,000.00 is actually a very good price.

My son likes Corvette's, so I thought I would see what a new one would cost. The one I looked at had a MSRP price just under $88,000.00, but the salesman said if I bought it today he could give me a $10,000.00 discount. I would much rather pay $60K than $78K. Hell, a new pick-up truck is $50K.

Modern Corvettes are nice but don't do it for me, if I were to drop 60k or more on a 'Vette, it'd be an older model. 58 Vette is my favorite but 60s and 70s models are sweet too.

Bought my new "71 for a little over 8K.
How in the world did you get it up to $8,000? Base price was $5,500. A/C was $459, leather $158, 454 was $295, AM/FM Stereo was $283, PS was $116, Tilt & Telescopic wheel was $84. PW $79. That is only $1,500 in options or $7,000 plus freight. Maybe $7,300 loaded. Was it a convert with hardtop and an LS-6 or something? A ZR-2?

'58s and '60-'70s don't get to 60 in under 3 seconds!

"Bargain" is relative.
For reference, the next "cheapest" sub-3.0 car is probably the GT-R, which is more than double the cost. 911s, McLarens, Bugatti, Ferraris, etc would set you back anywhere from 3.5-50x as much.

Closer to 6 seconds, but they look dang good doing it, and they don't depreciate (at least not as long as boomers are able to get in and out of them). Once the boomers are dead, their value will drop like a rock, except for a select few models, i.e L88.

Scratched my Vette itch with a Cadillac XLR several years back. Thing spent more time in the shop than on the road, and I had the standard V8 (not supercharged). I got rid of it on a trade in just before the warranty expired and felt like I dodged a bullet. Anyone else know modern vettes to be fragile?

Apparently, you can afford a Raptor on an Alabama football player's stipend so it can't be that much.
