JG is a super talented athlete. He is extremely tough and has a strong arm. But, he is indecisive, especially with his legs. He has not been good at pre-snap reads, and is slow to dump off to rb's, to get what the defense is giving. He seems to be locked on downfield. It is OK to dump it off to a RB, and get positive yards, OR, pull it down, and get 5 yds. It is all about MOVING THE DAM CHAINS!!

When the most talked about quality of your QB is being able to absorb punishment...sumpin's wrong. OL so terrible I suppose...just, please, Baby Buddha, make it better.

Can't expect Maurer to come in as a freshman and start. He could, but that seems very unlikely

I'm not sure about Shrout.

I just don't see either one overtaking JG next year

OK I'll bite... Could he do better, yes. BTW its not up to him to prove he does... your contention is he is not and @DustyRockSolid said nobody posting here is on the LOS or on the sideline to hear what JG is doing and he is right unless you show me some video that says on this play he failed to recognize A and should have done B. So prove it with game film analysis and audio. I'll wait.

I do know that there are a substantial amount of times when the receivers, RBs, and TEs haven't done JG any favors running while he is scrambling for his life. Are there numerous times he held onto the ball too long trying to make a play or waiting for a receiver to clear on a long route that should have broken off? Absolutely. OR a back that should be sliding out into a flat instead of trying to block a 300lb DE the tackle missed. The other thing I will tell you from coaching OL for many years and specifically centers is that I don't see nearly enough communication between OLmen… but I can't hear what they are saying before the turnstiles open.

The burden of proof is on the accuser and I never said he does get his protections and calls right. I'm not there standing next to him when he is doing it. So I have no idea. Thats why I don't go around saying he does or doesnt as if its a fact. Because I don't know.

Theres alot that JG can do better based on the things about football that I know compared to what I see JG do. JG impressed me many times when I stopped to consider what he has to work with and the OL he stands behind. He is a work in progress and he WILL improve. I think JG can be great one day but as of now he is only as good as our OL will allow him to be. I think we see great improvement from him next year.
To the people saying Shrout or Maurer will start, I say this. Nope. JG will start for the remainder of his time at UT. Get used to it. You are silly if you think a freshman is gonna come in and seriously challenge JG for the job. I doubt the coaches would even seriously entertain the idea.

Again. You are not there. You do not know what protections he is calling. How the fack can you possibly know if the sacks are because he made bad calls?
Also... the OL at times failed to even get a hand on rushers. JG sure as **** isn't telling the OL to just let them through untouched.
I don't get it. The original argument was that you werent there, you didnt know what calls JG made...so you don't know if its his fault.

I'm intelligent enough to understand and admit that I don't know what protection calls JG makes.
You're the one claiming to know what JG is calling when you clearly do not, then state it as if its fact.

I didn't say everytime it was the OL's fault. Why do you keep assuming things? I said many times I saw the OL completely not block anyone. That is a fact. I didn't say whose fault it was. BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW. Why don't you grasp this simple concept? Your arguments are complete ****, dude. You accuse me of saying things I didnt say and you refuse to admit that you don't know.
You just say its JGs fault.

Some of his sacks and hits are DEFINITELY JGs FAULT. And for you to pretend otherwise is ridiculous. Basic assumptions are what any of us have to make or their wouldn’t be a point of having discussions on a message board. Good grief. Get some rest. You must be exhausted carrying all of JGs water.
