If Uncle Butch were still here it would be Inside Zone, every game. Maybe after UT is up 21 they should run it then have a moment of silence for Jones' Coaching Career.

Oh, c'mon now. We all miss the two basic running plays of the Jones Era:

1. QB claps his hands, signaling to the DL that they should be prepared to move on the next verbal cue. Qb takes the snap 4 yards deep, turns to the RB standing fully upright beside him at a dead stop, and shoves the ball into his gut, likely saying " Here - Now run for your life!" as the DL penetrate into the backfield almost simultaneously. RB runs for his life through the 4 DL who are then in the backfield, along with 2 LBs and a Safety who have since shown up.

2. QB claps his hands, signaling to the DL that they should be prepared to move on the next verbal cue. QB takes the snap 4 yards deep, turns to the RB already moving away. The RB says over his shoulder "You're crazy if I'm touching that ball. Run for your life!" as, once again, the DL are in the backfield almost simultaneously. QB runs for his life through the 4 DL who are then in the backfield, along with 2 LBs and a Safety who have since shown up.

With Josh Dobbs and Jalen Hurd, you could still gain some yardage, thanks to the freakish athleticism of both.

I am so glad that era is over.

I think we win the toss and defer. First play, Darrell Taylor strip sack picked up by Henry To'oto'o for his first of many trips to the house.

I hope it is better than the first play against West Virginia last year! I was there last year, but can't make it this year.

I’m hoping the first play ends with yards gained, and not with JG on his back.

Ok, we all know that with CJP, even with CJC, our first play is going to be a conservative off tackle run.

But let's dream a little. Basilio has been doing this on his show the past couple of days, and it's kinda fun:

What would your DREAM first play be? A play to announce that the CJP era has officially begun. That last year was a warm up, and we now have the players and coaches to actually compete.

Mine is easy. It takes advantage of JG's very strong intermediate range ball. And it's a classic play. We have the WRs to pull it off, and it takes minimal protection. Against GA St is should work. What a signal it would send. And if it doesn't, then you just pound it for two plays and get the 1st anyway.

Without further ado, my dream first play. What is yours?

A first down any way we can.

It's got to be some sort of play action. Everyone expects the run, that's when you hit them with a deep ball on the first play. Also get to test the offensive line.

Chandler takes the handoff, and sees Trey Smith has pancaked his defender and moved on to the linebacker. He follows him through and goes to the end zone.

And Trey apparently sacks a QB along the way........

Well, if the individuals give 63 effort and are resilient and play complimentary football and can apply what they learned from leadership and mental reps then I’d say it will be a handoff to Chandler for a 7 ya gain

Dude, that play went for 1 yard due to lack of eye discipline.
