Mario Cristobal - Oregon (The vols could maybe sway him away with a large paycheck)
Mike Leach - Washington State (I don't know if Fulmer would like him)
Gus Malzahn - Auburn (If auburn goes 7-5 again
Mike Gundy - Oklahoma State (Do we ask him again?)
Dino Babers – Syracuse (Seems to have done a good job.)

A few other good options:
Matt Campbell – Iowa State (A little inconsistent but has pulled off some big upsets.)
Dana Holgerson – Houston (Had some good teams at West Virginia, just ask Tennessee last year.)
Josh Huepel – UCF (Looks like a good coach but may just be a product of his environment.)
Bronco Mendenhall – Virginia (Has built a pretty good program.)

The Dave Hart pick:
Mike Norvell – Memphis (Offensive-minded, looks good at times but still unproven.)

Fulmer guys:
Mel Tucker – Colorado (Was finalist for the job last time, looked impressive in season opener.)
Mike Locksley – Maryland (Has SEC experience, looked impressive in season opener, but would Fulmer want an offensive guy?)
Kevin Steele – Auburn DC (Also finalist for job last time but was terrible at Baylor.)
Dave Aranda – LSU DC (Basically the same person as Jeremy Pruitt.)

Do we ask them again?
Jeff Brohm - Purdue
Dave Doeren - North Carolina State

UT guys:
Tee Martin – Tennessee WR Coach (Duh)
Kacy Rodgers – Tampa Bay Buccaneers DL Coach (Received some recognition last coaching search.)
Jim Bob Cooter – New York Jets RB Coach (Would have best name in the SEC.)

A random assortment of names:
Mack Brown - North Carolina (Coached well on Saturday.)
Luke Fickell – Cincinatti (Worked out well last time we hired a Cincinatti coach.)
Bill Clark – UAB (Will beat us this season.)
Kevin Sumlin – Texas A&M (Was he rly that bad at Texas A&M?)
And finally…..
Will Muschamp – South Carolina (Will be looking for a job anyway.)

Mario ain’t coming......he just got things rolling at Oregon, why take a chance to end your career coming to Tennessee (even for $)

Gundy used Tennessee again for a raise.......not just no but Heck no.

Bet the farm, try again, 1. Patterson, if not:

2. Leach
3. Whittingham (been at Utah for 15 years he ain’t coming)

After this you probably simply have to try top 30-60 guys and hope for the best.

If you can’t land Patterson or Leach the best Tennessee can do is prob Babers or Fleck or very similar and that isn’t a guarantee that you could land them.

Mike Leach - Whom was a very realistic hire considering he was set to take the job until Fulmer blocked it.

Petersen - Probably not likely but take the chance any way. Open up the check book and make him say no.

Patterson - That bridge is already burnt but maybe he’ll have a change of heart. Same thing with Petersen, open up the check book and make him say no.

Fulmer interim. coach and let the search begin keepiing all the assistant until at least end of season. Didn't Wisconsin"s Barry & Michigan Bo , former HC's that were AD's do that in the past.

Clark at UAB is the type I would be looking for here. If this fails, then we are going to need someone who has been to the depths of hell in college football and survived it.

The guy managed to counter Bammer Bear Jr's program-destroying moves to lead the "last" UAB team to a 6-6 record . With the reinstatement of the program from nothing, he's only managed to hit the ground running.

This doesn't need a big name from a big time school. It needs someone who has the experience in leading and developing programs under duress.

We've failed to find the right coach for this job because time and again we have failed to look for the most obvious requirement in hiring a coach for a rebuilding situation: actual experience in a rebuilding project.

The point I’m making is that just because an announcement has been made and/or contract signed, that decision can be reversed due to fan outcry and Twitter.

Op your list is the worst I’ve ever seen. Malzahn? He has like a billion dollar buyout. And wouldn’t want him anyway. Muschamp? Mack brown? Good lord!!!
I’d say Gary Patterson first and foremost. Offer him 7 million a year. If he says no go for Justin Fuentes. He’d take the money. If not...go for mike leach. Done!

Pruitt isn't getting fired..Although his press conferences, laxed attitude, and the garbage he's ran out on the field for 3 straight games should maybe have Fulmer thinking about his hire.

I'd have Dino Babers on my short list if i had one. He's brash, kind of arrogant, gets more out of less. Just the kind of guy UT needs.

Weird thing about Pruitt is his original press conference he was fiery. He's done a 180 since then and toned it way down. His mannerisms give me the "I don't give a crap" vibes..

If we aren’t looking at something like this and you have to fire him this year, please just let Chaney run it for a year or two until you get what 99% of media considers a splash sure thing hire.

No more messing around. I can be patient if it means finally getting to it right. We have zero time left for experiments or coordinator promotions.
