2018 Schedule - I dare

What about winning games we aren't "suppose" to win?

Where do you put WV? An early betting line says they are suppose to beat us by 8+. I haven't seen any other "way too early betting lines" to consider.

The problem has been, we are NOT winning games we are suppose to win! CP has a big boat to turn around, If we get 7 wins this season, he'll have done a huge turn-around.

Sept. 1 vs. West Virginia (Charlotte, N.C.)

W 16 -10 Defense shines early, offense not so much.

Sept. 8 ETSU

W 48 - 12 Defense shows up again, weak ETSU
defense makes Ut offense look good.

Sept. 15 UTEP

W 38 - 22 Pruitt put subs in too soon.

Sept. 22 Florida

W 19 - 10 Pride on both struggling teams.

Sept. 29 at Georgia

L 38 - 16 Defense on the field too often.

Oct. 13 at Auburn

L 28 -14 Offense continues to lag behind defense
development.

Oct. 20 Alabama

W 19 -10 A shocking event. Offensive Line begins to assert itself. Backs and receivers show up in the 4th quarter.

Oct. 27 at South Carolina

W 46-26 Offense primed and confident. Pruitt inserts subs again too soon.

Nov. 3 Charlotte

W 49 - 10 Subs play a significant amount of time.

Nov. 10 Kentucky

W 50 - 10 Order of universe returns to form. But for three quarters Wildcats make it a game. Pruitt doesn’t sub this time.

Nov. 17 Missouri

W 54 - 26 Dooley hate is strong. Pruitt understands this and lets the beasts loose.

Nov. 24 at Vanderbilt

W 30 - 20 Revenge game, lots of penalties, lots of highlight plays. This is going to be a heck of a game fueled by pride, intra-state hatred, and lots of Vols fury. There will be bigger names in games in 2018 but this one has highlight championship all over it.
Let me reiterate here, Kirby Smart can’t beat Pruitt. We will win the Georgia game.:clapping::peace2::pepper:

I figure that was due to scheme and game plans. My big concern is the learning curve going to a 3-4 defense.

2018, I want a bowl game and a top 10 2019 recruiting class. That’s it.

2019 is where I expect wins. We draw Miss State from the west and BYU for non-con (both at home). Those should be two wins right there and we should beat all the scrubs: @UK, Vandy, @Mizzou, SCjr. as well as one of @UF, UGA and @UA. That’s 10 wins and totally doable.

Where do you guys come from? Rather than the “nobody can beat us and we’re gonna win the National Title, SuperBowl and Stanley Cup all in the same year” schtick, how about discussing the prospects of Tennessee football like a mature adult with some facts and reasoning.

Bar meet lowered.

No, I just recognize that there will probably be a lot of growing pains in year 1. Switching to a 3-4, undeveloped and injured roster, poor S&C the past 2 years, changing the culture. I just want 6 or 7 wins. Beat UK and Vandy and I’m good.

You say “no”, then give me the reasons why, “I just want 6 or 7 wins. Beat UK and Vandy and I’m good.” you are lowering the expectations for 2018.

How is that not lower than what you expected in 2017? Or 2016?

I liked the way Dobbs put it. Defend Neyland and beat Florida.

I can live with that.

I take beating the scrubs you mentioned as a given.

I’ve given facts and reasonings in other threads.:hi:

Yeah, i dont get it. Unless you are 8, then i get it.
Here is the thing, I’ve pointed out that Jim Cheney and Smart will choke against Pruitt and this staff. It doesn’t matter about the recruiting class that Smart has. In the 4th quarter, Pruitt made adjustments and shut down Georgia. He will do the same thing to Smart again. Dan Mullen will have a hard time beating Pruitt, Pruitt is a defensive mind genius, when it comes to coaching his players. Smart knows this, and he isn’t to thrilled that he got the coaching job at Tennessee. All of the coaches in the east will be beat. How about the west? Gus can be beat by Pruitt, we have seen this before by his defense, and even Gus knows that. Auburn will not like what is going on in the recruiting wars by Pruitt. Alabama? Well, we’ll see. I’m not going to say we beat Bama just yet, but Pruitt may be the next best thing to come along and beat Saban. Who knows with Saban.

Expecting wins over Ky and Vandy = seeing a real life unicorn?

That’s delusional.

It takes our worst for Vandy to get “two straight”.

What are you expecting against those two?

Do you have them down as losses?

I will count them as wins until a unicorn shows up and they beat us.

Reality is that we will not be out coached by Muschamp at USC nor will we be out played by Vandy Ky or Missouri. However we will lose to Florida, always have and always will. Might win 2 out of 10 games against them but we can't beat them very often
We can beat Auburn & UGA but won't this season
Need Bama to go back on probation so we can beat them again
I see us losing 5 games and winning 7. Then an 8th win in bowl game

That is a bunch of respect for Florida. Sure Spurier had our number but Butch beat them just two years ago. It took a Hail Mary like play for them to beat us last year. That’s was with Butch as HC.

I’ve got to see it to believe it. Right now I’m expecting a win.

Yeah, i get that you say all that. But just because you say it doesnt make it true. So im asking where you get it? There are endless threads by you with all this stuff. So it is just a childish view or do you have some evidence to back it up?

I dont have them down as anything. I dont even know what the rosters look like. But given recent history, its insane to call them gimme games. But again, we are vols fans so we can call them gimme games and continue to lose them and people just smile and nod. Cause we are champs of the off season.
