This year, I have added the St. Joseph Bay Humane Society to my list of donations. They are in Port St. Joe, Florida and in dire need for money for all the pets made homeless by Hurricane Michael.

I'm worse off because the country is dumber, civility has declined, divisiveness has increased, the dept is exploding, we've turned a blind eye on the environment, we've diminished the value of public education, and the tariffs on Chinese imports are a significant blow to my brother in law's company.

You could do something about the civility and divisiveness, and yet you contribute to the problem, MitM.

You and your party have contributed to (if not been the main driver of) the country being "dumber", the decline in civility and increase in divisiveness.

You and your party have never given two shots about the debt before so what's changed?

Can you give us some details about what's been done to harm the environment?

Public education has been on the decline for decades, we spend more money per student than any other country and get less for it. What political persuasion would you say has had the most influence on public education over the last 30-40 years in the form of teachers, administrators and both state and federal DOEs?

I'll take your word on your brothers company.

Just to throw this out there to add to this, the DOE is unconstitutional and the Fed has no business being involved with it.

The country has been getting dumber far before trump. I would put a large portion of that blame to be technology and the inability to use it properly. The challenge of social media in our individual lives but also parenting.

Civility declined under Obama and a significant amount of looting, vandalizing, harassment, etc. has been done by persons not affiliated with trump or conservative groups. I'll lump the divisiveness in with this too and to be fair to Obama, hes just the face of the beginning but the true beginning isnt with Obama.

The debt is one of my complaints as well. Here we can agree.

Public education has been a problem for a long time. Not even close to Trumps fault. The rise of Magnet schools started a decade or two before trump was elected and smart kids didnt attend the public schools. I didn't and I wasnt one of the perfect SAT score type kids. (in case you're wondering i got a 1490 when it was out of 1600)

In regards to the environment, I think this country as made significant strides in creating products that use less energy and fuel with lower emissions. Take your own county for example with the yearly emission tests we have to do. Trump does not get that credit but I cant say hes had a legit effect on the environment at this point.

well lets make sure your brother in laws company isnt harmed by anything, everyone else be damned.
