I lived thru the Jimmy Carter presidency. Gas lines, no work, excessive govt regulations imposed on Americans, Americans held hostage, no respect from foreign nations. And that's the high points. Good times.

And here's a little story. After Reagan took over, some Libyan Migs decided to take on some US Nave Tomcats. The Migs didn't fare so well. I liked that. And I just wondered about what if Carter had been reelected. The perception was that these two Migs may have landed on the US carrier and captured the whole ship and held it hostage.

Just don't ask me if I voted for Carter. :)

Carter did a couple good things, he got the ball rolling on deregulating teh airlines and trucking. He was screwing it up but he got the conversion moving forward at least.

But we do have to have one thing that we should all agree on: the truth for the American people, and where the truth leads us is another thing.” Even so, Pelosi said that Democrats would have to handle the situation “with great care.”
