2018 Midterm Election Thread

I can see now that this is going to be dumb until about 8:00. Somebody just touted a possible "flip".... with 1% reporting.

The one that started our conversation about socialism vs volunteerism. You've made it several times.

You often hide behind "comprehension" accusations in discussions. OK. Treat me like the idiot you claim I am. The study you responded to says that conservatives are more charitable than liberals. You said that that is explained by conservatives being religious. You've claimed that that comment wasn't discounting that religious charity is actually charity, just a difference in motive (which is inherent by the way, and needs not be stated).

So, your argument is literally an agreement that conservatives are more charitable than liberals and that religious motives produce more charitable people. So, unless you'd like to argue that religious charity isn't charity, that's where we are.

Condescend yourself and explain to the board what I'm missing.
I said religious charity was not worth less than other charity, but I never said they were the same. The difference in motive is also key which is why it does need to be stated.
What you have never seemed to understand is that I know that the surest way to have my belief rejected on this board is to actually state it.
The only possibility that anyone will see things differently is if they draw the conclusions themselves. I'll keep leading the horse to water, but I'm never going to try and make him drink.
I'll do the same with letting each individual compare and contrast giving money to a place of worship with giving money to other charities, and the impact that has on the chart that started this whole conversation.

I feel dirty because I voted for a Dem for our House Rep for the first time ever :(
Hot shower. I voted for two republicans in county level races (granted, they were unopposed) but I still immediately showered when I got home.

Doesn't count if they were unopposed chump. And I can smell you from here. You need another shower. Try soap this time. And call Dooley for some lessons.

If I hated the R that much I just wouldn't vote, cant imagine there is any circumstance where I could vote for the antifa party
Exactly.

I don't vote for judges because I don't know anything about them. It is ridiculously hard to find anything about their record, and it wouldn't matter if I did. They are all scum anyway.

This guy is far from an antifa supporter. I couldn’t vote for straight line R because that’s the lazy way to do it. Actually listen to where each candidate stands and then make your vote. I do a bit of research on the ballot before I ever even open the door to the voting poll. JMO
