I went to vote yesterday and there was a woman ahead of me raising hell because she couldn't vote, she registered the day before. Damn people try to understand the rules!

The vast majority of rejections came from voter registration drives. Intent will be difficult to prove. It's in the courts now and one judge has already ruled on the name match issue.

Republicans are doing everything they possibly can to keep Liberals from voting but they will still get beat in the house by 8-9 points in total votes even if they keep control. Give them credit they've rigged the system but it won't last forever.

maybe, just maybe its not racism that causes this. maybe its luck of the draw. Maybe there are some other mistakes they generally let slide but the hyphen is the "last straw". maybe they got reviewed before that person had their 5th cup of coffee, or right before their smoke break, or maybe that person was tired of seeing the same mistake over and over and over again and finally started calling it out.

the judge ruled that it was pending following the 25 month rule, didn't rule that they were wrong.

There should be a mandatory posting of the voter hotline number at every precinct.

It amazes me how people believe everything should be done immediately for them. No patience.

There are. I just think a posted hot line number would be a good addition. If you got multiple calls about one location, there may be an issue. I think our system is good, but it could be better. One of my biggest issues has always been the discrepancy in wait times at various locations. Especially as it nears closing time. A two hour wait would be something some people have a difficult time with. The wait always seems worse in areas of density which also happen to be the areas most likely to vote blue. Whether intentional or not, I think it impacts vote totals.

lol, how would that possibly be intentional? Crowded restaurants also take longer to get into, and liberals tend to pack themselves into densely-populated cities by choice.

Don't know. Link? If they are there out of necessity because the voters would otherwise feel unsafe, that's one thing. If they are there in an attempt to intimidate people into voting a certain way, or keep people from voting, then that's something else entirely.
