Some of those hires are unknowns, or questionable as an upgrade.

Scott: Unknown, especially if Debord is the offensive mastermind that some people believe. If the offensive production was a result of Debord, those are some big shoes to fill.

Hoke: Upgrade over Stripling. DL coaching is the one area Hoke has shown to be consistently successful

Warren: Upgrade over Martinez. It's not hard to be an upgrade over Martinez, but Warren is leaps and bounds a better coach.

Wells: Unknown, but it's hard to be worse than Mahoney given what we've seen over the last 4 seasons, but he has no P5 experience, and doesn't look like he was going to get any if not for being hired by CBJ.

Canales: Upgrade? Over not having a dedicated QB coach, I guess that this is an upgrade, though how effective he is as a QB coach is debatable given his history.

Rock: Upgrade.

Beard: Unknown, there's not a lot to go on given his coaching career.

BV, get real man. Those that dont learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. Last year we hired one of the biggest man defensive coaches around and look at the improvement of our defense. Clearly that shows that these offensive hires will put us at the top.

Look forward to playing 3 games in Atlanta and release the beast ...or some nonsense. :)

We're definitely sure the talents there; recurring already happened.

And you'd be hard pressed to find someone who disagrees that we upgraded the defensive staff, not so much offense.

Are you certain the talent is there based on the depth shown last season or what?

And did someone else carry the offense besides Dobbs, Hurd, Kamara and Malone?

Wells should be listed as an upgrade rather than an unknown for the reason you gave, "hard to be worse", it would be just as hard to be the same as well.

Canales is a solid upgrade over no QB coach. Lose the ?.

Beard is an upgrade if the negavols were right about ZA, although he did get a job with the DA' Bears, it's a conspiracy to make him look like he knew what he was doing.

Scott can't be as predictable as Debord considering he has no track record. Adjust that to an upgrade as well.

See you in Atlanta all three times.

Release the Beast!

Not some loser nonsense.

They do this every single year with LSU

Why not make them prove it for once? Lol these idiots just keep putting them in the top 5 over and over

Nothing on Wells' resume, other than not having the name "mahoney" says that he is a measurable upgrade. We aren't going to know until the season starts which way that hire goes.

Canales is the same way his resume doesn't say mutch to his ability to develop QBs. Probably won't be able to truly gauge that hire until 3/4 the way through the season.

Beard doesn't have enough WR experience on his resume to say that he's a definite upgrade, and CBJ's playbook is probably not going to help him with that in 2017 since we are also breaking in a new QB.

We will find out early with GA Tech and of course the UF game. No high hopes here. Would love to be surprised.

As a stand alone hire, sure who knows? But compared to the coach they replaced or the absence of a coaching spot, all upgrades.

Since we are discussing the future, I'll allow(that's a joke) a "gotta see it to believe it" approach.

I take the same approach when discussing wins/losses. I've got to see a team beat us before I'll believe they can.

Release the Beast!

6 SEC teams. Tennessee 2nd team in the East (ahead of FL). I'm sure it'll change after spring pratices

Tennessee is 14th overall in that lists. A little overrated I do believe but I do believe a top 25 team preseason isn't going too far.

I'd say somewhere between #22-#24 myself. That's with having everybody & no injuries plus the entire 2017 incoming class.

I do think we can finish ahead of Florida in the East though but Georgia this coming season I just don't see another Hail Mary miracle. Thanks.

Until there is evidence of them being an upgrade, it's wishful thinking to call the Canales or Wells hires anything but unknowns. Canales has little P5 experience, and wasn't even coaching QBs at his last stop, and Wells has been around for 20 years and never gotten the nod from a P5 school.

Wanting them to be better than they are doesn't make it so.

Canales is replacing a vacant chair. If all he does is breakdown film with our QBs that more than what the empty chair could.

From the sound of Volnation experts, Wells is an upgrade by default.

Waiting to give an opinion on the future will not change the truth of the situation.

Cartoons and replays of 120. I won't get to see 121 until this fall. Just like the rest of you fellas.

It's a new year, a new season, and a new team.

For what it was worth Debord was supposed to be QB coach as well as OC.

Unfortunately for you, unless your last name is Trump, you don't get to have opinions on facts.

Those coaches resumes and experience are what they are at the moment.

Exactly. Suppose to be.

We all have the same information(unless you have some inside info you're not sharing) to base our opinions on.

Penn State and LSU wont be there in the end.

Look for LSU to be looking for a new coach in three years.

LSU has top 5 talent.

I have read where Orgeron was a super interim coach but a lousy full year coach.

Let's hope the wheels fall off of LSU right after they spank bama.
