I realize Butch is getting at least one more year absent an epic collapse, but if we couldn't get it done this year then not sure how we can expect more in 2017 as we are losing a ton of players.

Dobbs - gone. Probably be an upgrade w/ QD or JG next year honestly.
Kamara/Hurd - I think they're both gone, although Hurd's draft stock has plummeted this year IMO. Really pleased with what I see with Kelly, but he can't take every snap so someone else will have to step up.
WR/TE - losing Croom, which is not a big loss. Should still be pretty good at this position.
OL - losing one senior, but we have got to figure the OL out or nothing else matters.
DL - Barnett is a top 10 pick and is long gone. Also losing some other good DL like Vereen. Will need guys like Tuttle, McKenzie, Phillips (milk carton), Alexis Johnson, etc. to step up.
LB - JRM is not coming back for a 5th season, so we will have Kirkland and some mix of Jumper, McDowell, El. Berry, etc. Should be decent at this position at least.
Secondary - losing Sutton will hurt as I see no way he comes back. This position has really struggled the last few weeks and the blown coverage last night was inexcusable.

I cannot see us being any better than 8-9 wins next season. This was the year and we have completely blown it.

If Hurd stays then Kelly should transfer because our coaches are blind to what everyone else sees.

Hurd -- but what will be the result of staying in this system again next year (it just isn't looking right).

Agreed. This system doesn't play to hurd's strengths. It's much more designed for a Kamara/Kelly type back. I hate that this season has happened to Hurd, but he needs to move on and see if he can get a shot in NFL. I'm guessing his combine numbers will probably get him drafted.

Not sure it will matter how many players we return on offense or even who the QB is as long as Debord is calling plays. Dobbs has regressed since Debord was hired as has the entire offense. Hurd was better as a freshman, we actually used to run slants and crossing patterns and even threw it to the tight end. With Debord this offense never really seems to be in sync. What a disaster!

Unfortunately Butch's sorry excuse of an offense won't ever change. So more of the same sadly but worse

The offense is hard to watch....And the defense is not as advertised.

A season of promise has turned into a season of disappointment.

Realistically, if you're Hurd, are you in the top 5 RBs available for the 2017 draft? The answer this year so far would be a no. The same applies to Kamara where he may not be in the top 10 RBs coming out. Hurd if you listen to his "relative" who posts here is fed up, so he's probably gone no matter what, but don't be surprised if he goes waaaay later than most VN people would think he'll be. Again if you're not first team (All SEC) at your position in your own conference, nationally how good are you really?

Not to mention how devalued the RB position in the NFL has become. I see Hurd going very late in draft or possibly not at all.

We are awful at OT
