2016 Transfer List:

I know many will disagree, but I try to get involved with Valentine Izundu. He's graduating and transferring from Washington State, 6'11" 215lbs, didn't put up eye popping numbers but depending on what else you can get would be a nice 1 year stop gap option.

This past year: 14.9mpg 3.8ppg 2.7rpg 2.2bpg

I think he could be a ~20mpg 5/5/4 rim protector for us, obviously not a world beater but depending on what are other options are I would prefer adding him than riding with 12 guys.

I like the blocks, but 3 rebounds in 14 minutes? May be a weight issue.

I am in. Take him all day over a transfer that has to sit out

I would take Giddens and Osetkowski over him, but I don't think our chances with those 2 are very good, although the staff is trying.
If giddens wanted to commit, would we let him? We only have 1 scholly, don't we?

Edit: 2 since ray left, so giddens would leave one left, right?

Not sure if posted already but I saw former Vol commit (under Cuonzo) Jordan Cornish is transferring from UNLV following a coaching change.

Obviously we are stacked with guards and wings, so we don't need him. Just posting for the hell of it

That was an amazing class Clownzo had coming in :)

I know this is the same post from the Kasongo thread, but it fits here too.

I understand the potential desire to go out and get another big this season, but bare with me for a moment.

We currently have a big coming off a pretty good season in Schofield. We do have two "bigs" coming in in Grant Williams and the Fulkerson kid.

Do we really want to tie up our last remaining scholarship in a potential transfer that isn't incredible or another 2016. I realize college and NBA are different, and there aren't financial contracts involved, but look at the teams that go out and splurge on players that aren't necessarily the right fit just because they feel like they need to do something. Greg Monroe in Milwaukee, truly wasn't the right fit, but they felt like they needed to make a splash in free agency. The Bucks were coming off a season in which they made the playoffs. Sure, some felt Monroe would take them to the next level, but now Milwaukee faithful which he wasn't there and they are stuck with him for another four years.

We aren't going to be the best team in the SEC next year, so why throw away this scholarship just because we feel like we need someone. Why not ride this season out and see what 2017er out there can help our team a year from now?

Because we need a true big man. Schofiled plays like a big shooting guard. Fulkeson is a tweener SF, who can block shots but will need a vast amount of weight to play in the SEC (as a PF). Grant Williams is probably closer to a traditional PF/C and plays with his back to the basket. It's worth mentioning that Rob Lewis of VQ has said that the players coming in are all developmental players and will need a few years before they make a major impact.

We do have Alexander returning, and hopefully he can make the necessary strides to be great but we need a true big man offensively and defensively.

I was watching Stokes last nite in D league playing at 6-7 255.
Don't think williams is close to 6-7. i'd say he's pretty close to schofield in size, but a little heavier.
We need a decent grad transfer to even think about playing above .500.
