So how do we have two top ten players from TN but Holly gets neither? Without getting the very best players we will never return to NC contention.

You can't be a regular poster because this has been addressed a million times. Dangerfield was only waiting on an offer to UConn so she could commit. More than likely, she will be the starter from day 1 with Jefferson being a senior this season. She did not want to play behind Cooper and Reynolds at Tennessee also. I heard Carter was a Tennessee lean until DeShields transferred to UT and Jackson also signing with UT. Plus Nared already on board. The wing positions are stacked. I can understand why these young ladies went elsewhere. Hope this helped.

From what I read, Carter (Chassity not Andrea) can shoot. Jackson cannot. Both C. Carter and Jackson can defend and drive. Hence C. Carter ranked much higher than Jackson.

I don't think a player like Dangerfield would have considered UCONN ten years ago. Things are different now. Wish TN had gotten to her sooner. C. Carter too.

Tennessee was in good position with Carter, but when DeShields came, that went away. Also, Carter wanted to be really close to her family in Dickson, and Vandy is about 30 miles from Nashville.

I thought I would research high school stats between Meme, Dangerfield and Carter. The first thing I noticed was that both Dangerfield and Meme play on a nationally ranked top five team, which also ranked number 1 in the state. I think this has to be looked at when considering a player's stats. Meme likes to shoot the three ball, and averaged right around 32 percent for the 14-15 season. This was better than Dangerfield, who shot 30 percent. Carter shot right around 35 percent, so none of them were exactly burning nets with the three point shot. Another thing that stood out was Meme and her ft shot percentage. Not very good at all, but I am sure that can be worked on. Yes, both Dangerfield and Carter both have better fg percentages. When you use the AFG percentage, then Meme closes that gap considerably. All three look to be pretty good defenders, with meme avg around 1.5 steals a game, while Dangerfield and Carter at a little over 2 steals a game. All in all I think we are getting a really good player in Meme. Def a player who can improve big time from her freshman to sophomore year.

Andrea Carter has always proven the ability to shoot the basketball. She is very hesitant to do so and that is probably the reason a lot of people think she can't shoot. She has hit 63 of 172 threes for .366 percent. So that is enough attempts to say she is a very good three point shooter.

If we could get McCune and one of those top ten bigs this will be a very successful recruiting class regardless of whether we get anyone else.

I would think the race is between Tennessee and Louisville for McCune. These recruits are giving no clues at all.

I really wish we could get a 2016 commit early

If I recall, it was this way with the 2013 class. We got commitments very late. Russell and Reynolds didn't verbal until October. Tucker verbaled late in the summer. When visits start to take place, the ball will get rolling. We have a while to wait. I think all of Tennessee's targets won't visit until the fall.

I have read that Louisville isn't interested in McCune.

Well, I guess Tennessee may be the leader. I haven't heard her name associated with any other schools. Maybe that's why Louisville went after the post player from Colorado I think? I know Tennessee has been recruiting her hard and she has an offer. I wonder what's keeping her from committing? Maybe she's waiting to see what the other post are going to do? Holmes is most likely a silent committ to Texas. Cox and McCoy are toss ups. I can say these recruits are giving no clues at all. Cox, McCoy, Slocum, Lewis and McCune are slated to take visits to Tennessee this fall. It may be a long wait.

It doesn't matter how good of a shooter you are if you're too damn scared to actually shoot.

I know Slocum says she will be signing in November so we'll know something on her in three months.
I can understand players not wanting to commit or give a clue as once you commit the barrage is doubled by other teams trying to flip you back. Plus all the fans of your area getting hostile if you happen to commit to a school they are not a fan of or are following.

Lea Lea Carter isn't a great three-point shooter at all. Neither are Dangerfield (who is streaky ... think Simmons) or Jackson. Shooting 30% from 3 in high school really isn't a great stat. That being said, Carter has developed it compared to what it was earlier in high school, but still isn't consistent at it. She is similar to Te'a Cooper in that regard. And yes, once Diamond transferred Tennessee was out of the Carter race. Carter and Jackson, to be honest, are very, very similar players.

I'm not sure why exactly people think elite in-state recruits are going to come here just to sit on the bench. Honestly at this point I have no idea where MeMe's minutes are going to come from. By that same token, people shouldn't be expecting Slocum to pick us. Lewis may come as she's far less talented and probably wouldn't expect many minutes her first year.
