The good memory I have from the 2016 season was my next door neighbor who drove in his own vehicle up to the game leaving at half time of the Florida game pissed off. He got all the way to Nashville before he turned the radio on and found and that our boys had rallied and come back to beat the Gators!!! HE WILL NEVER LIVE IT DOWN!!!!! WE WON THAT GAME AND I WAS THERE TO SEE IT!!! He got mad and headed back to West TN.

GO VOLS GO!

I remember being ticked off at 21-3. I thought to myself " here we go again" but when JJ made that catch on the guys back for the 1st down, every ounce of Vol in me said we gonna comeback and steal their game. That last quater and a half was Neyland at its peak. I watched the game from home and it felt like i was there. I live in GA and got to talk crap to Uga and Fla fans in back 2 back weeks. The looks of disgust on their faces was absolutely priceless especially the uga fans.

I hate to admit it but I also left that game early. While I was a tad disappointed at the initial showing my reason for leaving was due to heat related illness. After cooling off in car we stopped in Strawberry Plains at Puelo's and got something to eat and finished watching the game there. However had I stayed, oh well we'll never know.

2015 was a better season for Tennessee in my opinion,
2015 simply was a better season than 2016. 5-3 in conference play vs. 4-4, wasn't blown out by anybody (lost 4 games by a combined 17 points), didn't lose to Vandy.

2016 might "feel" like it was the better year because we were a top 10 team at one point, but relative to expectation it was Butch's second worst season here (2017 obviously being the worst).

Pick your poison. Yes, those were also unforgivable.
Any chokejob is bad, but at least in 2015 Tennessee wasn't favored/expected to win those games it choked away. Oklahoma in particular ended up being a CFP team that year and Baker Mayfield eventually won the Heisman a couple years later. They were a better team than Tennessee - maybe not for significant portions of that game, but over the course of the season they were. It was really disappointing, but it wasn't ultimately something to be ashamed of.

In 2016, we lost as a significant favorite to South Carolina to torpedo a chance to play in Atlanta, then lost as a big favorite to a little brother in-state rival to torpedo a chance to play in a NY6 bowl. And this was with a squad that brought back basically everybody from the 2015 team. 2015 was a letdown, 2016 was a kick in the nuts.

Agreed. 2015 team had the defense to get to ATL if we could have not squandered UF game. 2016 Vols defense was abysmal down the stretch.
