Here's the highlights:

  • Allow individuals to use Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). Contributions into HSAs should be tax-free and should be allowed to accumulate.
  • Require price transparency from all healthcare providers, especially doctors and healthcare organizations like clinics and hospitals.
  • Block-grant Medicaid to the states.
  • Remove barriers to entry into free markets for drug providers that offer safe, reliable and cheaper products.

Trump finally got smart and took away some of the ammunition that would likely be used against him tonight.

Without the Republican voters there is no republican party. If the establishment thinks they decide who the president nominee is, appoint one and do away with the primaries. If there are going to be primaries, live with the results and go on.

I think I'll wait and see what Romney has to say before getting outraged.

But on the other points, you are correct the voters have turned out in droves to support an outsider that's not afraid to swing the sledgehammer in the china shop. And it's something the mainstream GOP is worried about. But let's face facts here, Trump hasn't exactly been what we would call a unifying candidate so far and it shows since he hasn't locked the nomination up by this point. Now I agree that out of the hottest fires comes the strongest steel, but at some point, they both need to extend the olive branch to each other and work this thing out.

By and large, that's a two way street. Trump can easily walk away with the nomination and the general election with the backing of both the supporters that like the outsider and with the GOP giving him the blessing. Part of me thinks this is nothing more than a big show intended to keep the GOP in the news. And if so, they are doing a marvelous job.

Trump needs to realize he needs the "establishment" to conduct business as the President and get things done. And in turn, the establishment needs to realize they need Trump to unify the entire base before the election. Soundbites of "Ryan will pay huge if he doesn't work with me" sounds great to the masses, but doesn't quite work in the real world as Paul Ryan is fairly well respected in the GOP. It's very dictatorial in nature and serves no purpose but to divide. In turn, the attack ads run by conservative PACs likely aren't helping matters.

Both sides need to come to an agreement to work together at this point.

Trotting Romney of all people out to diss Trump seems like a total desperation move that's bound to backfire. The guy was one of the weakest GOP presidential candidates in decades and was almost immediately forgotten after Nov. 2012. Hell, Sarah Palin has more influence in the party than Romney does at this point.

These are 3 great points.

Modify existing law that inhibits the sale of health insurance across state lines.

Allow individuals to use Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). Contributions into HSAs should be tax-free and should be allowed to accumulate.

But I'd also like to see the Flex Spending account limits increased again. The $2,500 limit right now is not helpful for families.

I agree. Whether you like Trump or not, the GOP made a deal with him not to run 3rd party. Now they are doing everything in their power to ouster him despite the fact that so far people are turning out to vote for him. Like it or not, that is the process, and it's not the GOP's job to force a candidate down our throats just so they can keep their money flowing to their cronies.

I've been saying this for years. The Republican Party is a train wreck that is more concerned with their standing in Washington than with the voters will. While I don't like Trump as a candidate, I love watching the Republican Party being taken down by a guy they underestimated.

There have been a handful of elections over the last four years or so that should have sounded the alarm for the leadership, but they close to whistle and give the people the finger.

you're spot on Gramps.....not to mention Romney being the one to start pulling the tax return BS.
I think people are so sick and tired of this kind of thing taking precedence over the real issues that it will do nothing, but add more momentum to Trump.

  • To me, this would produce the largest reduction of health care costs by far. What other industry can you name where you can't get an accurate quote for any given work that is to be provided?

How many of the conservative voters that do not support Trump would actually vote for him if it came down to that? As big as his support base has become it looks like he has a large amount of detractors among conservative voters.

How many of the Cruz/Rubio folks would actually put a check mark next to Trump's name on the ballot?

I will consider it as he lays out more and more details. So far I can support his tax plan and Obamacare alternative.

I don't believe for 1 second Trump is a conservative, I hope I am wrong but I think he is fooling millions of Republican voters. I will stay home in November. Surely, as a country we can do better than Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton

You areally missing the point.

If the party has primaries, the rules are set out up front as to how the delegates will be won. The candidates play by these rules. They even went so far as to ask the candidates to sign a pledge they will support whoever the nominee is. Now one of the candidates that the establishment cannot control is going to run away with the primaries, they choose to attack him, override the will of the majority of the voters and not support hI'm. That is as hypocritical as one could be.

If the GOP does not want the voters to decide who the nominee will be they need to fo 2 things.

1. Go to a "Super Delegate" process such as the dems have in order to control who the nominee will be. It suxs, however the candidates and voters know the process up front.

2. Stop asking candidates to sign a pledge to support whomever the voters nominate then turn around and not suppose said candidate themselves.

This is not so much about Trump as it is with the GOP powers doing all they can to override the will of the voters. There is no party without the voters, the party can remain without these idiots being in charge.

This is common sense every voter should agree with, regardless of who the candidate is th he Establishment does not approve of. The powers to be think they are above the will of the voters, can do whatever they want to and everyone fall in line line good little sheep.

If the voters choose a candidate that does loose the general, so be it. We should have to live with it. The establishment does not have a very good record of picking winners.
