The rich have already stolen from the poor by corrupting the political process so that the rules are made in their favor. Its why capital gains earned by billionaires like Warren Buffett are taxed at a lower rate than the salary earned by his secretary. Buffett has brought this issue up himself.

If you think making the rules fair for all Americans rather than the donor class is cheating then I don't know what to say to you.

The only taxes Bernie will raise on people making $100k or less is to pay for universal healthcare. And that increase in taxes will be offset by no longer having to pay health insurance premiums because the private health insurance industry won't exist anymore.

Nothing about Bernie's platform is about stealing. Its about FAIRNESS. For too long big money has controlled politicians on both sides and rigged the rules to favor them. Bernie wants to rig the game in favor of the average American not the donor class.

Rasing my taxes to create free programs is stealing my money...

If you understand food finance, you would realize that warren buffet generates most of his income based of dividends that is taxes at 20%.

when 50% of the American people pay little or no income tax, but consume most of not all govt benefits and contribute nothing.. That is stealing form taxpayers

You really do believe this, don't you?

I graduated with a degree in political science in college taking many classes on political philosophy. Then I went to law school. Since then, I've worked in Washington DC both in government and the private sector.

These are issues near and dear to me. I'm not one of those young voters who are just hopping onto leftist causes cause they are hip. I've studied these issues regarding government, politics, and fairness my entire life.

It's the reason I'm confident in my positions and passinationate.

College kids love Sanders they want to someone else to pay for their college... Next will be free cell phone and free Starbucks for life

There's basically 3 candidates left: Trump, Cruz, and Rubio. Carson and Kasich will be done soon and Bush will probably stay around a while just because he's a Bush.

Bush has money..but no chance. Trump labeled hi as no energy and it was game over.. Never recovered

Well my employer pays my insurance except for a little over a hundred dollars a month. Does his plan include my taxes going up while my employer doesn't pay for my healthcare anymore? I also make over $100k a year so does that mean I'm rich and I need to pay more than the $20k+ a year I'm paying now in taxes?

That's actually a very compelling issue you bring up about employers and a sort of double taxation that could happen to folks like you. It would be a great question to ask Bernie Sanders.

On the extra tax for the wealthy. I think it depends on if you're a single guy making 100k or a family. Obviously a single guy can afford a 5-10% increase in taxes when making over 100k. I made that much a few years ago when I worked in the private sector and as a single male, I could afford more taxes.

This idea that paying 52% under Sanders at the top marginal rate rather than 39% is some overwhelming burden is false. It's easily affordable for people who make that much.

I've never understood why people see college-level education as a "right". Why should I have to pay to subsidize someone's gender studies or sociology degree? I know he says it's coming from his disastrous Wall Street transaction tax, but we all know that isn't feasible.

I think America would benefit from a focus on vocational and trade schools. In Germany, they funnel kids into three different routes based on their performance, so that only a pretty small percentage of students actually go to universities, and most are trained for the workforce early on. Such a program would probably not go over well here, but a step in that direction would be more efficient than "free" college.

You realize that the more you pay in taxes the less you have to spend and invest and build real wealth?

By why were you able to make that money in the first place?

You enjoyed the privilege of living in a nation with a strong economy and middle class that allowed you to gain wealth. I personally don't think it's stealing if the same nation that provides you with safety and security to engage in business asks you to give back some of that money to improve the social welfare of the society as a whole.

I've always said rich people are the ones who benefit from a strong social welfare system. With a strong social welfare system, there is less crime. Less social unrest. More prosperity. More oppourtunity to make more money.

A robust social welfare state is the best friend of the rich not an enemy.

I think Kasich has a bit more staying power now that the herd has been thinned.

I wouldn't count him out just yet. Carson I agree with though.

There is no way you made $100k with a poly sci degree fresh from UT unless you were in sales

No. We've just grown up in a generation in which one party has embraced the politics of racial exclusion and demagoguery of immigrants, gays, and minorities. While another party has embraced diversity, tolerance, and inclusion.

It shouldn't surprise you that if we embraced progressive social policy we would embrace progressive economic policy.

Republicans have lost a generation of voters. And with the increasing diversity of the electorate, a permanent leftist majority is right around the corner.

Never said I went to ut. Never said it was from poli-sci. I went to law school right after undergrad and got my JD. The six figure salary was while working for 2 years in "biglaw". Aka worst 2 years of my life.

You've grown up in a generation where mommy & daddy paid for everything. Now that they've kicked you out of the house/retired, you want the government to pick up the slack

So where is the cutoff for wealth? If you think making a $100k is wealthy you're sorely mistaken.

Sure. But it gives back to the country and potentially makes it better.

Why not give back to the nation that affords you the opportunity to make this wealth in the first place?
