2016 Election

I can vote for Cruz or Trump - but never for Rubio. Rubio presents a Mitt Romney scenario in the general election if he is the nominee, with millions of conservatives sitting out another presidential election. Perhaps that is what the Establishment wants.

Absolutely disagree. Rubio can generate more moderate votes. Cruz will get zero moderate votes, and Trump's market has maxed out. The only Republican candidate with a shot at beating Hillary or Bernie in the general election is Rubio, whether people want to admit it or not.

I'm afraid the Pauls are unelectable in this current climate. Fiscal conservatism has taken a backseat to war-mongering and xenophobia.

I love Rand, but I agree. It's unfortunate. Of the GOP candidates, I have to support Rubio in the end, because Cruz and Trump will not beat Hillary or Bernie.

Anyone who believes that Trump or Cruz can't beat Hillary needs to get the cobwebs out of their heads.

The Establishment and the Media will now get behind Gang Of Eight, and Neocon, Rubio. The Establishment Money will pour in for Rubio.

Rubio will do good to finish in third place in New Hampshire. Trump has a huge lead there, and it will not vaporize.

Cruz supports the gang of 8.

Now Trump supporters are claiming that the Rubio surge was due to a secret alliance between Microsoft and the establishment to rig the vote counting machines.

Lol... It just goes to show that voters want outsider, but they also want a serious candidate with substance. Rubio running so close to Trump was huge. The establishment could potentially go all in for Rubio and create a surge going into Super Tuesday.

Potentially? IMO most definitely

Don't confuse the Iowa caucus outcome as showing what the voters want. There were 180,000 people that participated in the Iowa Caucasus and showed as usual they don't have a clue about what the American voter wants.

2008 winner Huckabee
2012 winner Santorum
2016 winner Cruz

All three far, far right candidates.
The first two big losers. This year winner will fall in line and be a big loser.

So says the Gramps'.

I agree. But the results are instructive as to who gets to at least stick around until the primaries move south.

Yep and Cruz unfortunately may do extremely well on Super Tuesday unless Rubio's support continues to grow.

Dem turnout in 2008 was 240k. Last night 171k. Down 29%.

Rep turnout in 2008 & 2012 was 120k. Last night 180k. Up 50%

Regardless of how people feel about some of the candidates, it really is a much stronger field on the GOP side than it has been in the past. Those numbers are a good sign for the viability of the party.
