Bump for those that missed this.

Some of you are getting all giddy over something that doesn't exist.

Yea he suddenly decided to leave the board after Carl Icahn start calling in his debts. And he probably shouldn't list Trump Entertainment Resorts as part of the Trump Organization if that's true.

Septic? Bump in case you missed it in the angry mob screaming about Donald Trump's yachts.

ETA: And I'd actually want Huff and VB to chime in as they have a better grasp of that side of the house than I do.

I didn't read the articles but I'd have to wager that Romney receives most of his compensation through capital gains. I'm sure Obama also has a similar system to hide his money from the IRS.

I don't fault him (Trump) or Romney or Obama for operating within the parameters of the current tax system, I just don't buy that Trump would do anything to correct it - altruistically.

I think it's a sad day when people like Warren Buffet pay a lower effective rate than their hired help.

Trump owned it personally. Citi Bank and other debaters concluded that Trump was spending to lavishly and put him on an allowance and started selling some assets.

Link?

People like Trump, rarely own anything in their names.

Hell, that's the way I did it for years. I owned nothing, but my company had a lot of assets.

You are correct, in 1990 they put him on a $450,000 per month allowance during a debt restructuring deal. They even limited his charitable donations to $100,000 per month. In the end though all of his creditors were repaid. 26 years ago he made some bad decisions.

The articles were just the facts behind the payments as I like to add those in. I mean, some find facts to be totally irrelevant when arguing politics. But I digress...

I think you are correct in saying it would be hard for any candidate, regardless of party, to change the tax codes.

Apparently you are talking about a Chapter 11 (reorganization) in 1991 for Trump Taj Mahal. As part of the restructuring plan, Trump agreed to sell some of his assets. What is the problem?

No Carlos was right, Trump owned the yacht. What he left out was Trump also on his own assumed a great deal of corporate debt in a restructuring deal with his creditors. He could have walked away from millions in debt but didn't.

You mean in Trump when owed $550 million on the hotel and agreed to give up 49 percent of the hotel to Citibank and five other lenders. And he still failed to make payments on his debt.

It's very hard to pin Trump's views down on the ideological spectrum. He's far right on immigration, but on healthcare and trade he sounds more like Bernie Sanders than anyone else. He couldn't care less about the traditional social issues or religion. I have no faith that he'll cut spending in any form or fashion.

It's a very interesting blend. I could see a less combative Trump winning the general just because he is channeling the rage of he average American citizen, but at this point he has turned a lot of people off.

No, he failed to make a payment before the restructuring deal. Failing to make good on his debt is what led to the restructuring.

I'll agree to an extent. He has been combative, but in recent debates has gotten a little quieter until challenged by other candidates. Then it's the best dollar eighty he ever spent. Same thing on the campaign trail. Sure he takes pokes and prods at the other candidates, but really nothing more than the others have.

It's almost like the bombast was to get him to the top (and if so was a very effective tactic) and now he's in cruise control to the finish. I'd say you'll see more of the attacks if he wins the nomination and he goes after the DNC candidate. Which is honestly what the GOP base wants to see. And in turn could win the centrist voters as they might ask the same things about Hillary or Sanders.

This has been an unusual campaign. But in the big picture, nobody can doubt he's run this brilliantly. He's said what many want to hear and got even more TV time out of it. And in turn, got even more percentage from it.

Moody’s model gives Dem candidate advantage in 2016 | TheHill

Dude your candidate is about to be indicted
I really really hope this is true, but I will believe it when I see it.

As long as she gives away free stuff, the left couldn't care less if she opens the entire security of the country to our enemies. Couldn't.... .care.... less....

Trump can't even cut spending in his own company so how the hell will he cut it as President???
When you come right down to it, that task rests with the Congress, and they are still an abysmal failure. However... if Trump will put our money where his mouth is... so to speak... he has a better chance of doing that with a friendly Congress. Ryan knows that Dumbo will veto anything that doesn't fit his agenda, so at this point real cutting is not possible. Time will tell, but one thing for certain, Cankles will only drive up spending and the war on us working people.

Facts...

Those results are heavily dependent on how swing states vote. The latest model from Moody’s reflects razor-thin margins in the five most important swing states — Florida, Ohio, Colorado, New Hampshire and Virginia.

In each of those states, the Democratic advantage is less than 1 percentage point, well within the margin of error.
