How many jobs has Rand Paul created?

I mean, if we're going to start comparing candidates here, might as well toss them all into the mix.

He did open his own practice didn't he? So a couple I'd guess before he ran off to Washington.

That doesn't answer my question. I'm not taking offense. I'm just wondering why is it OK? It seems like we would tend to protect victims. We villainize the both of them, in this case.
Why did women vote for Clinton in record numbers? You should be asking your question of women voters rather than dudes on a web board.

Not beating the market makes him below average.

You realize whatever comparison you are using probably assumes he took all the money and invested in a S&P fund at a particular time. I can almost guarantee it assumes no money was ever taken out of the fund. If you count the money Trump has spent living how he has lived (which is also a benefit to the economy), I would almost guarantee you he has beaten the market over that span.

That'd be an interesting episode of The Apprentice.

"Don, old buddy. You suck at investing. I can do it much better than you. Let me show you the error of your ways."

I could easily introduce him to some S&P funds that have very low costs. Not only would I make him more money, but I'd save him a ton of headache and time also.

Every dollar spent in or invested in the US benefits the economy. So let's not praise him for being materialistic because it "benefited the economy".

And why would he need to take out vast sums of money? Get a job.

The harsh reality is 90% of us probably couldn't meet his standards, with gramps and Hogg being the exception..😜

Yeah, that's exactly what I said.

If beating the market is the benchmark to measure business acumen then there are thousands of well to do businessmen who suck.

So being "well to do" based on inheriting wealth is a better benchmark?

Not beating the market makes him below average.

That's not how I interpret it. He probably had vanity projects and projects he did with family/friends that he didn't care if he lost on...I don't really view that as a good excuse in relation to the presidency, tho. As POTUS he will be playing with other people's money...how do I know he wouldn't be choosing vanity projects and favors for his friends?

Not sure. I don't tout his business record. All I know is he is a reputable doctor who donates a lot of his time.

Of which I'll never disagree. He is a humanitarian in that regard and made positive contributions to society as a whole.

But the point still stands. You want to bash Trump on his business acumen, yet your own chosen candidate is sorely lacking in that regard. Or truth be told you really don't know how well his portfolio really is. Sure maybe he employed a couple of techs, some administrative workers and things like that. Maybe a dozen or so max. He built a business that worked and was needed. But his footprint in the economy isn't exactly that large.

Trump on the other hand has (and continues to) employed tens of thousands if not more. And if you add in the design and construction work, you could probably safely double that figure. If not more. So why are we even arguing over the fact he made an empire out of his family's inheritance and ended up doing it smartly? You argue he could have made even MORE money. I say he's done pretty well at keeping people employed even through his Chapter 11 situations. And come out relatively unscathed in the end save the critics that want to point to it and scream about how his businesses failed.

Have you looked at the Trump holdings here recently? I honestly didn't realize how widespread they are.

So again, brass tacks point. He made a fortune. Did it wisely. And ended up with ten figures in his bank. Employs tens of thousands of workers and provides business opportunities for countless more. Why are you trying to diminish his accomplishments?

Thanks for describing every president for the past 150 years if not more.
