I was talking about Paul...

But he's more Libertarian than Conservative. I once had faith in Rand Paul. Then I realised he believed that we should still have the foreign policy from the 1780s while forgetting that the way America looked at foreign policy and the world changed in 1945.

Exactly why he's unelectable .

Regardless of his foreign policy stance, he's still the only GOP candidate (to my knowledge) who has actually put forth a plan to reduce spending. Trump, Carson, Rubio... I'm just not seeing it with them.

I don't consider Rand an isolationist. He wants America to be a leader on the world stage, but at the same time project that force more efficiently. That means not selling weapons to terrorists and being more forceful in our dealings with sovereign financiers of terrorism such as the Saudis.

Rand Paul: Punish Those Who Fund ISIS

Here's an op-ed he wrote for TIME today. I don't think acknowledging the mistakes that both sides have made in our foreign policy is isolationist.

Anyone who is willing to concede to Russia control and influence over Eastern Europe and the Baltics is an isolationist. Rand is the same person that said that ISIS isn't bad because they enslave and rape women and cut off the heads of Christians. But they are bad because they " it threatens our embassies." He also said that we should in regard to ISIS “trying to help find a negotiated end or settlement that involves people who live there doing more to try to fix the problem.”

That's actually not what defines an isolationist.

Not sure where you're getting your information. He has mentioned the crimes committed against Christians in the Middle East on many, many occasions. Of course, it's also pressing that ISIS could pose a threat to American embassies and consulates in these regions because the people who work there are, well, Americans.

I don't see the problem with the latter statement either. In context, it says that he wants other nations in the region to come together against a common threat.

Pretty much agree with this. People project Ron Paul's foreign policy approach onto Rand Paul. He's not arguing for isolationism. He's making an argument against the naive idealism that has dominated our foreign policy approach for the last two Presidencies.

We need a return to realism. I think Paul would provide that if he were to win the election.

He made poor choices in aligning himself with McConnell and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. This is what hurt him in this election cycle and I wish he had never chosen that path back in 2012. He would be in the top 3 right now.

I might have asked you before Huff, but would you vote for a ticket with Rand as VP? Say a Carson/Paul ticket or Rubio/Paul?

I know he's oil and water with the other candidates, but would you sit out the election if he was given a shot at the #2 spot?

Yeah, I would sit out. VP is pretty much powerless if you follow the constitution and Rand would likely follow the constitution.

I don't think Rand would be VP for either of them. He'd have to compromise too much on his conservatism. I don't think they'd want him. Carson maybe. I could see Rand having influence over Carson because he's not much of a policy wonk. Rubio thinks he is.

Powerless perhaps, but certainly a limelight situation if the GOP takes the election and sets him up for another POTUS run in the future.

I don't think VP is the springboard to POTUS that it used to be. Only 1 VP in my life has become POTUS, and the rest are considered a joke by a large % of the population (Quayle, Gore, Cheney, and Biden). They don't tend to get any credit for what the oval office does, unless it's bad.

I doubt Rand would turn down an offer to be on the ticket, I just don't think one would be extended.

Quayle I agree with.

Gore had a shot, then we figured out what a moonbat he was.

Cheney was entirely un-electable.

Biden might have had a legitimate shot since the left tends to ignore his idiocy.

Rand jumped up to fourth place after the debate. Only trails Trump, Carson, and Rubio now. Let's hope for something to go wrong on the top end, and then we may really have a shot with this thing!

I can't for the life of me see Trump and Carson staying there past Feb.

Clinton Goes after Laugh Factory Comedians for Making Fun of Her - Judicial Watch

This is no laughing matter for club owner Jamie Masada, a comedy guru who opened Laugh Factory more than three decades ago and has been instrumental in launching the careers of many famous comics. “They threatened me,” Masada told Judicial Watch. “I have received complains before but never a call like this, threatening to put me out of business if I don’t cut the video.”

The Clinton staffer, who Masada did not want to identify, also demanded to know the names and phone numbers of the comedians that appear in the video
.

He better be careful, or could end up in the Clinton dead pool.

Another strong debate showing will put him near the top. I think it was hog that said he's listening now. And I believe many more have opened up realizing that what he's saying makes allot of sense.
