Carson is suspending his campaign for 2 weeks to do his book tour. It's funny to see the media & R establishment flip out over it. The guy is doing it his way and that's nice to see.
I'd put all the party pet peeves aside for someone that would actually balance the budget and start paying off debt. The US finances are a disaster. I'm not even sure if it's possible to fix it anymore, but it will be the downfall of this country.
That's the biggest threat facing America today.
His way = the opportunistic way
I don't have a problem with him doing it. The campaigns are far too long in the first place. I can't conceive of a world where Carson sells many books if he isn't running for POTUS. Makes you wonder how serious his intentions are.

Uhh....not sure your response goes with the quote.
You think he's paying for his campaign?
No, I don't. You think there isn't a lot of personal cost and sacrifice associated with it?
I just think you have the cause and effect backwards. Candidates write books to help get them elected. They don't run for office to sell more books.
He has always struck me as somewhat of a reluctant candidate which is EXACTLY what we need. He has other books one of which I read and he has something to say. The problem is that if he is using the printed word as a medium to get his "message" across, he will not be able to reach the government educated liberals which in large can't read in the first place. His way = the opportunistic way
