I agree. That's why large corporate owners of rental properties should instead pay out profits to owners and the owners should be more fairly taxed on that as income.

Why differentiate corporate ownership? What's good for goose is good for gander. I think it is idiotic, but if that's what you think is fair then any property owner should pay that same tax.

Renters pay property taxes. When property taxes increase, so does rent.

Some of the post in this thread is a very good example why econ 101 books should be used as an outline only. There is a difference in the way business actually works vs what is written in a book that describes how business should work.
