Cruz sounded the alarm that “Agenda 21 is wrong, and it must be stopped.” Cruz wanted that George Soros and others backed a 1992 United Nations agenda to “abolish ‘unsustainable’ environments, including golf courses, grazing pastures, and paved roads.”

Holy crap! What would all the lawyers do with the extra seven hours a day they'd have to work?

Nearly a decade since Congress rejected a federal constitutional amendment to prohibit same-sex marriages, public sentiment has hugely shifted to the point that 60 percent of Americans indicated support for marriage equality in a recent poll. But Cruz continues to fight against equal protection for same-sex couples, pushing for legislation and a federal constitutional amendment to allow states to deny them the freedom to marry. He denounced 2014 court rulings overturning state same-sex marriage bans as “judicial activism at its worst,” calling them “tragic and indefensible.” “Traditional marriage is an institution whose integrity and vitality are critical to the health of any society. We should remain faithful to our moral heritage and never hesitate to defend it,” he said.

Cruz is a strong opponent of abortion rights, but also has opposed access to contraception. He backed the Blunt Amendment to decimate the Affordable Care Act’s guarantee of contraception coverage and denounced emergency contraception as “abortifacients,” incorrectly suggesting that Plan B causes abortions.

Although the U.S. constitution expressly prohibits the establishment of a national religion, Cruz has expressed concern that a religious group that makes up only about 1 percent of the nation’s population might do just that. At a 2012 candidate forum, Cruz warned “Sharia law is an enormous problem” in the United States.

In a 2012 article on his Senate campaign site, Cruz sounded the alarm that “Agenda 21 is wrong, and it must be stopped.” Cruz wanted that George Soros and others backed a 1992 United Nations agenda to “abolish ‘unsustainable’ environments, including golf courses, grazing pastures, and paved roads.” The non-binding resolution, signed by 178 nations including the United States (under then-President George H. W.Bush), was nothing more than a general statement about reducing policy and building sustainable environments — and has, more than two decades later, not been used to eliminate golf courses.

lawgaytor, it's not about support of homo marriage. it's the fact that one judge can reject the majority of voters because that judge decides to interpret an amendment. that is absolutely ridiculous

you can kiss the 1st amendment goodbye because anybody can now take a church, Christian business to court if they refuse services based on religious beliefs. that is not the way the founding father intended.

Thanks. I'm glad there is no link showing Cruz stated he intends to govern based on religion.

Sincere question: if there were some questioning whether Obama was born in Hawaii or not as it allegedly would effect his eligibility for office, why is Cruz eligible for office? Doesn't that mean it was moot where Obama was born, given that he definitely had an American mother (like Cruz, who was born in Canada)?

This will be an issue for Cruz. Not sure how things are diffent for him when compared to prez O.

His Israel policy is purely based on religion. He's even told Arab Christians that if you don't stand with Israel and the Jews he doesn't stand with you.

Has he said that is based on religion or is that your take?

Not an issue, he renounced his Canadian citizenship some time ago.

Correct. Not only did he renounce his Canadian citizenship in 2009, but his mother was a native born American from Delaware. Lawyers on both sides of the aisle, conservative and liberal, have stated publicly that the constitutionality of Cruz's run for President based on the grounds of citizenship, is not an issue. As it was not an issue with another guy as well: President Obama.

Oh, that's interesting. I didn't know it was a settled issue. Thanks, mrorange.

TennFan could be right.

I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I know there are a lot of people agree with me on Obama. He and Holder are setting up their own police force replacing some local police forces in 6 major cities with Birmingham being one of them. Whether you believe me or not Obama has put this country in a quandry. Some may think he's done good for this country but you'd better rethink. When has there been so may racial problems and what about ISIS? Obama won't call it what it is-Muslim lead. That's because he is one of them! The next GOP and DNC is set for summer next year. I'm just hoping there will be an election next November.
