He didn't exactly crush the rumors on Meet the Press though he did say he saw one of the four remaining nominees winning.

I just couldn't see it honestly. I could be wrong, but overall, I think he likes being the power behind the throne to wheel and deal as opposed to being on the throne himself.

I think it's hilarious that either Cruz or Trump will be the GOP candidate..these are the two that the establishment despise the most..this quote makes me like Cruz more

As Priebus spoke, Ted Cruz trashed the very notion of a brokered convention as "the pipe dream of the Washington establishment," speaking to reporters ahead of a rally in Orono, Maine. "It is their hope that they can come and snatch this nomination away from the people."

"All of their golden child candidates aren’t winning. And they don’t understand. They picked who they want the nominee to be, and there’s just one little detail — they can't actually get the votes from the people. In my view, a brokered convention ain’t gonna happen," Cruz said, remarking that a brokered convention "would cause a revolt."

It would. If they play games I wouldn't be angry if Trump or Cruz wanted to run as an independent in that scenario. It would be better for the party to roll with whoever wins instead of manipulating the process for their preferred candidate.

lol

Cruz would very much love to have a brokered convention if he's in a strong second place when it rolls around. To think he's got the humility to say "yeah, thanks, but Trump's your guy since he's leading" is insane.

He has to know he would lose in a brokered convention true. The GOPe hates him as much, if not more, than Trump.

I think Trump comes away from a brokered convention as the candidate, despite what the so called "establishment" wants. He claims to be able to deal, that's his prime time to negotiate, deal and compromise to get the delegates necessary to win.

I don't know Cruz does a lot of things that make me cringe..but the man usually does what he promises

Priebus said there is a less than 10% chance of a brokered convention..we have some winner take all states coming up..that will tell a lot in who gets the nomination

It's interesting. When I view this forum, Cruz is garbage. When I view other forums and listen to conservative talk show hosts, he's a solid conservative candidate.

I think it is too early to predict that. There are more states remaining to vote than has voted.

He is the sleazy combination of a used car salesman and a TV preacher. I make sure to check my back pocket when I hear him speak to make sure my wallet is still there.

I bet Bush helped a lot of underprivileged people prior to being governor of Texas (blue font). Talk about your typical, silver-spooned, Republican.

It would be interesting to see how many people GWB employed while a private citizen compared to Obama. You got those stats?

Priebus is talking BS to try to calm the water for a while. The 15th will go a long way in determine what the chances of a brokered convention will be.

Cruz saying he thinks there won't be a brokered convention is leaning towards him thinking he will win this thing. He isn't going to win Florida or Ohio. I'd be willing to bet pennies to dollars Trump takes California, Washington, New York and New Jersey. And that's enough to keep him in a commanding lead.

Cruz just can't get the votes necessary to get the majority. But he can get enough to go to a brokered convention. And again, for him to say at the last minute he will drop out to endorse Trump is insane.

The Canadian doing what he does best, lying.

I still don't know what to make of Cruz's play in Florida.

Trying to take out Rubio to close the gap with Trump? It's stupidity at it's best. He's not polling anywhere near close enough to Rubio to make that kind of play. But those polls are a week old if not older.

Cruz is a candidate for ideologues. He's the one you want if you're willing to accept a ton of polarization, hostilities, and gridlock for pure conservatism.

I'm not saying he would be awful, but I have a hard time seeing him become a popular president.

Does it really matter though who finishes second or third? Florida after all is winner take all. I guess there is some symbolic meaning but I really don't see the benefit. Than again I'm not a campaign strategist.

Conservative talk show hosts are hardly a good indicator; they will hitch their wagon to whichever one stinks the least in their eyes.

Make no mistake, if Trump gets the nom the conservative windbags will be on their knees for him.
