I think it's hilarious that either Cruz or Trump will be the GOP candidate..these are the two that the establishment despise the most..this quote makes me like Cruz more
As Priebus spoke, Ted Cruz trashed the very notion of a brokered convention as "the pipe dream of the Washington establishment," speaking to reporters ahead of a rally in Orono, Maine. "It is their hope that they can come and snatch this nomination away from the people."
"All of their golden child candidates arent winning. And they dont understand. They picked who they want the nominee to be, and theres just one little detail they can't actually get the votes from the people. In my view, a brokered convention aint gonna happen," Cruz said, remarking that a brokered convention "would cause a revolt."

lol
Cruz would very much love to have a brokered convention if he's in a strong second place when it rolls around. To think he's got the humility to say "yeah, thanks, but Trump's your guy since he's leading" is insane.
It would. If they play games I wouldn't be angry if Trump or Cruz wanted to run as an independent in that scenario. It would be better for the party to roll with whoever wins instead of manipulating the process for their preferred candidate.

I think Trump comes away from a brokered convention as the candidate, despite what the so called "establishment" wants. He claims to be able to deal, that's his prime time to negotiate, deal and compromise to get the delegates necessary to win.
It's interesting. When I view this forum, Cruz is garbage. When I view other forums and listen to conservative talk show hosts, he's a solid conservative candidate.
Priebus said there is a less than 10% chance of a brokered convention..we have some winner take all states coming up..that will tell a lot in who gets the nomination
I don't know Cruz does a lot of things that make me cringe..but the man usually does what he promises
Cruz saying he thinks there won't be a brokered convention is leaning towards him thinking he will win this thing. He isn't going to win Florida or Ohio. I'd be willing to bet pennies to dollars Trump takes California, Washington, New York and New Jersey. And that's enough to keep him in a commanding lead.
Cruz just can't get the votes necessary to get the majority. But he can get enough to go to a brokered convention. And again, for him to say at the last minute he will drop out to endorse Trump is insane.

Trying to take out Rubio to close the gap with Trump? It's stupidity at it's best. He's not polling anywhere near close enough to Rubio to make that kind of play. But those polls are a week old if not older.
