2016 Election Thread Part Deux

This should help shore up Trump's numbers amongst those who hate Mexican immigrants.

I.e. People already voting for him anyway.

Only in America could it become fashionable to self loathe for being in favor of enforcing the law.

That terribly oversimplifies the problem. Plus, Trump has never made it simply about the law. He has maligned the character of the immigrants to appeal to prejudices.

There's no doubt the fear card gets played on both sides. But I've never seen another situation where the enlightened position is supposedly to be very careful not to impugn the character of those who clearly know they are violating the law and gaming the system at the expense of others.

Trump did well yesterday. I'm betting we see a jump in poll numbers unless he says some stupid $hit today or tomorrow.

Yep. He's looking very presidential right now. I watched some of his speech last night and it was on point and full of passion. He's out helping flood victims and visiting the president of Mexico while Hillary is napping.

Immigrants, legal or illegal?

Both. He hasn't in any way linked criminality on the streets to only illegal immigration. Why do you think his numbers are in the tank with Hispanics across the board? They realize he's pandering to anti Hispanic fears in the GOP base as much as simply anti illegal immigrant.

They see right through him on this.

Because they think the socialist party will give them amnesty

Trump would have Tuesday. On Monday he was against amnesty. On Tuesday he was for it. On Wednesday morning, while in Mexico, he called Mexicans our friends. On Wednesday night, in the US, he literally yelled and screamed that they are not our friends.

If you have the slightest bit of intellectual honesty, you will admit that he has embraced this week alone at least a half a dozen different positions on the issue. The debate when they get to this will be hilarious, because he will have no teleprompter, and he will get hard questions about all his nonsense on this. It will be ugly.

Trust me. Believe me.

Like I have told you before, I am not a Trump supporter and will not vote for him. On the other hand your candidate has also been on both sides of this issue.

The joke is on the immigrants because Hillary will not give them the amnesty they seek

While he will always sound like and look like a complete moron, which he is, this Conway and Bannon duo have him sounding and looking less moronish and his poll numbers are going to rise as a result.

If he can somehow manage to hide his way through the debates, like he did with the Republican primary debates, then I think he's as good as gold. I think he wins.

I've been convinced ever since his "Midnight in America" acceptance speech at the RNC, where he basically told America that we were a deceased nation and people should we not vote for him, that he will win. I thought the Khan family fiasco might have finally been his undoing, but it proved only hickup...yet again.

Americans will vote for a slightly less-moronish Trump over Clinton, I have no doubt. The problem is that he's still the same moron. Within a year of his presidency, he will already be impeached and forced to resign.

Which neither side has the balls to strengthen or enforce.

Thanks to the Chamber Of Commerce, which at one point was the biggest lobbying group in the US. Take them out of the picture and things might change.
