2016 Election Thread Part Deux

I never said anything about get out of jail free card, just a reference to your condescending tone concerning users of government funds. Lay off on the tough guy act and more so on what I think.

He does have this I'll kick your ass tone, can't figure out where it comes from.

Yes, some of them are disrespectful and idiotic runts; I don't care whether or not they served in our nation's military.

Again, serving in our military is not a "Get out of jail" free card, as you must think.

You've never and never will walk a day in an armed forces members shoes, i'm sure you'd worry about getting a hang nail. So don't even talk about the military because you know nothing. Sit behind your desk, pull your hair back into your cute man-bun and sip on your tea and stfu and teach your poisonous liberal garbage.

Hillary Clinton has some serious medical problems and I think her public appearances will be limited.

Hillary has not held a press conference in 249 days.

Drugs can control many diseases, but Lies cannot.

Cutting military spending would be a disaster unless the cuts were specific to certain aspects

There's no reason to cut military spending, all they need to do is get rid of the FWA and free loaders who are just milking a check till they have enough issues for disability.

I am sure most of you who served can name numerous incidents where crazy amounts of money was wasted on something ridiculous. High ranking officials traveling with an entourage, crap just laying around never getting used, and plenty of other crap. I remember early on in my career they would have weekly base clean up crews comprised of young enlisted members. Now that's all contracted out, probably paying someone twice as much as they pay an E-3.

Tons of wasteful spending in the military, let them dig deep and they can make some legit cutbacks and use some of the money more effectively.

But they're not going to dig deep. They're going to keep letting pencil pushers eat up the budget while the man on the ground and vets continue to get the shaft.

Oh I know...if the government wants to save money, make the retirements for senators and congressman the same as the military. You have to do 20 years of public service to get 50% retirement + medical. That means successfully getting elected each and every time. Screw up and not get elected at 18 years....Ooops sorry, here's a small severance and no medical insurance. It's absolutely ridiculous that someone can serve 4-6-8 years and walk away with a 6 figure income.

Unfortunately, lawyers have a say in some of those base details. I can recall using our relieved of duty troops for such details and being promptly informed that it was "punishment" and against their contract for joining. So instead of putting a weedeater or a broom in someone's hand to do details that you or I might have done 20 years ago it's now forbidden.

I agree with you on the point that the military does have a lot of wasteful spending. But I'm also of the mind much of it is in acquisition rather than operations and support. Not to say there isn't waste there too, but that seems to be the primary method of wasteful spending.

I'm of the mind the military budget doesn't need to be cut per se, but rather reviewed for waste and redirected into operational, training and support budgets. And if there's savings on the back end, even better.

Here comes another media s***storm.

Trump: 'Second Amendment people' could deal with Clinton - CNNPolitics.com

Donald Trump set off a fierce new controversy Tuesday with remarks about the right to bear arms that were interpreted by many as a threat of violence against Hillary Clinton.

"Hillary wants to abolish -- essentially abolish the Second Amendment. By the way, if she gets to pick, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know," Trump said.

And the Hillary campaign already responded. Of course they are going to call it "suggested violence" regardless of what the Trump campaign says.

The man has more gaffs than Joe Biden and Dan Quayle put together.

He's either sabotaging his campaign or simply isn't very bright.

Saw that. It's plastered all over CNN and the writer used Trump's vague comment as a call for harm against her.

It's Trump's mistake for not going into detail about his comment, i.e. as a legislative issue/NRA members, etc. but for that journalist to begin speculating and printing that it's a call for assassination, ********* believable!

I honestly have no idea what he meant. When I first saw it I thought he was talking about the power of 2A supporters to prevent Clinton's election, but in context he's referring to something that would happen after a Clinton victory. I'm sure it was yet another awful "joke" from Trump, but that was really, really stupid.

I doubt very seriously he intended for his comments to be construed as a threat, though the DNC will take it that way.

As for bright...I think he's plenty smart. However, has never had to think 15 times before opening his mouth and saying what's on his mind. It's appealing to some (as we saw in the primary season) but disaster on a national stage.

Yet not a word about Mateen the gay hater being behind hiLIARy at a rally.

The media is all out to get Trump, they are running scared trying to plaster anything they can on Trump. What would they do if Trump didn't say a word for a few days? They'd probably make **** up for a headline.

The horribly biased NPR reported on it earlier today. It was actually one of the earlier reports. An example of why it's one of the better media outlets.
