2016 Election Thread Part Deux

Every person in the GOP that wants to have a political future is going to run away from VP slot on his ticket. You'd spend 3/4 of your time trying to explain away his latest ridiculous statement, and the other 1/4 trying to repair relationships with everyone he offended, yesterday.

Think about it: At the convention, no Romney, McCain, GHW Bush, GW Bush, no Jeb, most of the other candidates this year staying away. He's a trainwreck waiting to happen, and they know it, and they don't want to be tied to the aftermath.

Romney, McCain and the Bushes staying away can only be a positive for him.

You need infrastructure and money to run an effective campaign. Trump has neither. Alienating the money and structure that are out there may be gitchy and cool to some, but it will come back to bite him in the arse when its time to pick someone stable and capable of running things.

Trump's petulance and bravado are entertaining. But they are not particularly reassuring.

Lol, you said the same thing about him in the primaries .

I'm not watching but reading reports. Did Chaffetz really just promise a referral to the FBI for Clinton lying to Congress? And did Ryan just demand she not have classified briefings?

My God, talk about a dog with a bone!

I think this is becoming comical. The level of the GOP temper tantrum, combined with frustration they have nominated a carnival barker to go up against her, is jaw droppingly bad judgment by the GOP.

Let's cover some of the things the liberal members of the committee have asked about:
Trump being mean to Comey
Potential white hate groups
Zika virus
Colin Powell

The DNC used a black "Chicago community organizer" to run against Hillary & won the Oval Office. And now, we have a "carnival barker" as you say running against her. mmm, the way the American voters vote these days you just never know how these things turn out w/the stupid uneducated voters voting.

Trump had a meeting with the GOP Senators and House Republicans this morning which didn't go well. He got into heated arguments with Senators Jefff Flake, Ben Sasse, and Mark Kirk.

When Flake stood up and introduced himself, Trump told him: “You’ve been very critical of me.” Flake responded by saying “Yes, I’m the other senator from Arizona – the one who didn’t get captured – and I want to talk to you about statements like that,”

Trump said at the meeting that he has yet to attack Flake hard, but threatened to begin doing so. Trump told Flake that he will lose his reelection this year for not supporting him. Flake responded by letting Trump know he's not up for reelection for 4 more years.

Trump then attacked Ben Sasse for being against him and for refusing to attend the GOP convention. Senator Sasse responded by saying " I'd rather go watch a dumpster fire with my kids then attend the the convention."

Trump also called out Sen. Mark Kirk (who was not even there) who withdrew his endorsement of Trump last month, because of Trumps racially based attacks on a federal judge and said he did not approve of the senator’s actions. He then called Kirk a loser and vowed that he would win Illinois in the general election even though the state has been solidly Democratic.

Again, it is just astounding that this is the guy the GOP chose to put up next to an incredibly flawed Dem candidate. Any standard, experienced, and polished and professional office holder could have really made this a race. If Jeb BUsh or Kasich were the nominee they'd be neck and neck with her in the polls, with a real shot to win.

But noooooooooooo. The GOP had to get on its collective high horse, and sanctimoniously declare that they were going to throw out the old guard. Never mind they chose a complete nut to replace it.

You really can't make $$$$ like this up, "You've been mean to me"...whaaaaaa!!!

Geez Mr. Trump when you make threats at least know what you're talking about....

Calling Kirk a loser is pretty funny....I bet that's been his go to comeback since he was 3 or 4 years old. I'm waiting for him to announce that Homey the Clown is his VP selection because he supports the blacks....He's not making America Great Again because America has always been great...He's making men's makeup and spray tans popular for idiots willing to vote for him
