It truly is a sad situation. What a choice we've given ourselves - HRC or Trump. Either will be an unqualified disaster as POTUS. What have we done?

Only divine intervention can save us now or is this the prediction coming true of an anti-christ figure being in a higher up government leadership role position to deceive the masses we've all been looking forward coming to pass?

The country isn't dying. Old, ignorant, uneducated, biased, racist, sexists attitudes are. The country is getting better and better. People who hold these outdated views are just pissed less people are agreeing with them now and more people are getting opportunities. They are mad they don't get as many built in advantages now and have to work from a more even playing field. Those people, like the ones on here, cry about everything now. Man up and work hard and stop whining like a baby.

I guess this is why there's more people than ever that's unemployed or not looking for work is because they don't want to man up and work hard vs shut yo mouth and send me my govt welfare check......right?

Daniel Culbertson, an economist at the Indeed.com hiring website, told us that the economic downturn and simple demographics are the commonly cited cause of the drop in the percentage of people who are in the labor force.

"Those that cite a deteriorating economy believe more workers are becoming discouraged and leaving the labor force altogether due to lack of opportunity, low wages, etc.," Culbertson wrote in an email.

"Others opine that the majority of the decline can be explained by aging baby boomers leaving the labor force as they begin to retire en masse. How much of the LFPR (labor force participation rate) decline is attributable to each is a common topic of debate among economists."

Gary Burtless, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, attributes at least half of the drop to baby boomer retirements. That would have happened even if the recession never had occurred and the economy kept growing at the pace it had been in 2007, Burtless told us in an interview.

Other factors are at play, Burtless said. Younger people who could enter the workforce are staying in college longer, he said.



There are a lot of baby boomers retiring inflating the numbers. Obama didn't make them get old. He isn't making young adults stay in college longer either but it is happening.

Retirement isn't/shouldn't be considered in the labor participation rate.

Why are kids staying in college longer? They are having a hard time finding jobs.

The empire would still be falling even with trump. Neither wants to decrease debt. Neither wants to end the empire and continual war. Neither wants to protect our currency from the federal reserve.

Actually, it's not they can't find a job. It's the entitlement mentality they have to come out automatically making $65K a year and not learn how to work their way up the ladder.

The Transformers movie had a good quote about that. To paraphrase, "you are looking for the job after this one. But this one is what's standing in your way."

A top Clinton ally’s political organization gave nearly a half-million dollars to the campaign of the wife of an FBI official who would go on to help oversee the probe into Hillary Clinton’s email practices – a tangled web likely to fuel Republican complaints about the investigation.

The Wall Street Journal first reported Sunday night on the connection. According to the Journal, finance records show Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s PAC gave $467,500 to Dr. Jill McCabe’s 2015 state Senate campaign. The Virginia Democratic Party spent an additional $207,788 on the campaign, the Journal reported.

McCabe apparently sought ethics guidance from the FBI and followed it, but his supervision of the email case was not seen as a potential conflict since Jill McCabe’s campaign was over and McAuliffe wasn’t directly involved in the email case.

The empire can still be saved. We just have to do a far better job of choosing our battles from now on. The window to act without negative consequences is now closed.

People who retire shouldn't be considered a part of the workforce - assuming they didn't retire simply because they couldn't find a job. The "discouraged", "no longer looking", "semi employed" should all count as part of the workforce. If they didn't have welfare benefits of one kind or another to keep them from starvation, you can damn well bet they would be working. As already pointed out, some people are in school because they have no other place to go - no jobs - at least to their liking - probably having a lot to do with the course of study they chose.

The government calculated unemployment figures are completely bogus because they are fabricated on fictional available "workforce" numbers. No administration wants to look bad, so they all find a way to pump the numbers, but the Obama administration is producing pure fiction.
