D was great this game.

Only downside is it was another game we were outscored in the 4th. Here's hoping our new D coordinator, strength coach, and a years experience reverse this trend this year.

Was as ugly a win as you will see. I think because it was so cold we just wanted to win and get the heck outta there. That's and it was Pinkel's last game. I remember watching on TV and they tried to make it sound like a bad thing that we won on his night after the game.

That's the 1st re-watch of that game for me. Yes it was sloppy, yes it wasn't the offenses best game, BUT the D played like grown azz men!

The Dline did get pressure but didn't seem to be a ton of it but the secondary still balled out even when the line didn't get to disrupt the timing. Was prob because CJJ wanted to blitz up the middle instead of off the edge.

They seemed to be more effective with speed rushes off the edge more so than thru the gaps but I heard them say CJJ told em he wanted the blitz to be in the young QB's face so he would make bad decisions even if the blitz didn't get to him.

Even so the entire D played great and the O played good enough. It's my belief Debo could've turn it on up but he knew the game was in our favor and if Mizz would've ever pressed us, CMD would've been more aggressive.

So the only concearn that game left for me is our Oline just couldn't seem to block hardly at all. There were at least 4 black jerseys in our backfield every pass play it seemed. Red zone trouble was a result of it I think. The team rode on Hurd and AK's back in that game and them young men had to fight through a lot of unblocked guys and both still had a great game. Of course Hurd had an outstanding game.

Oline does concearn me still. Mizz had a good line but so will Fl, Ga, aTm, Bama, etc. I hope they have really improved even with Hall out a while.

I have the same concern about the OL. They will be better, but they need to be a lot better in pass protection. We'll find out soon enough!

I thought it was an excellent game for the defense. If they play like that all year, we'll make the playoffs.

Did they not cross the 50 until the 3rd quarter or something like that?
