2015 NBA Playoff Thread

Actually that's why it's classic Huff. Korver has stunk in the playoffs, sorry your feelings are hurt.

That's not what the discussion is about. You don't know what my position is but that's never stopped you from disagreeing with me.

Stat o' the day. Korver's TS% is down a whopping .142, but he's still out-shooting everone except Muscala and Carroll. That's unbelievable.

Now watch the Hawks come and shoot out the lights today. lol

But I am not saying Korver is good because of this stat. I am saying this stat disproves the theory that the Hawks are struggling because teams are focusing on Korver.

Note: Hawks fans are pretty partial to Antic. They got pretty feisty with me for saying they should dump him for a rim defender.

You should probably go have a look at Korver's stats since game 3 of the the Washington series. Your stat is lumping in how he did against a terrible Brooklyn team, when he was fine, with how he's done once the competition got good. His FGA/game have completely fallen off the shelf. It's not a coincidence that that's when the worm really turned for the Hawks in these playoffs.

And again: Korver struggling to get shots is not the only reason why the Hawks' offense has crapped out in the playoffs. It was just the most predictable.

Just because Brooklyn isn't a great playoff team doesn't mean they can't guard Korver or pay special playoff attention to him. We are talking about the whole playoffs, and the Hawks struggled a bit against the Nets, so why wouldn't we include that series in the discussion? Seems very relevant.

You're trying to talk about the playoffs as a whole but you are singling out 4.5 games. Makes no sense. You are implying the competition got good halfway through the Washington series.

Worse than that is clearing out of the damn way for James to dunk. Not sure i can recall i'm going to make this very easy i won't even try to stop you move as abysmal as that in a NBA game.

It took the Wizards two games to take Korver away, probably because Randy Whitman is a terrible coach. But after that he effectively died. Cleveland eliminated him from the jump. Who cares how he did against Brooklyn, who sucks? It's like saying that Dwayne Wade didn't kill Miami in the playoffs last year because he was so good against Charlotte in the first round. When the Hawks' season was on the line this year, in the playoffs against good teams who were determined to take Korver away, his offense crated. As anticipated.

I'm not even sure what you're arguing at this point. Are you saying that even though Korver's shooting percentage has gone in the crapper, he's got a good +/- so it doesn't matter? You don't think that's contributed to the fact that the Hawks have practically shelved their beautiful motion offense and repeatedly gotten bogged down running iso after iso? Something has thrown the Hawks out of their offense almost completely; you don't think that the cancelling out their most important offensive player has anything to do with that?

I should also clarify that I'm not saying any of this to slag on Kyle Korver, whom I love having on my team. He's just obviously limited. And it's problematic in the playoffs to have such a limited offensive player as the focal point of the offense.

Which is what I said a long time ago: like everyone else, the Hawks won't be a serious contender until they get a superstar-level player. I love the guys on this team, but none of them are that.

It looked really bad, but looks aren't everything. Did anybody think Korver was going to stop him? Bazemore was in a better position than Korver, probably, and he ran away too, LOL.

I've seen Lebron get out of the way of guys like Paul George. Sometimes it's the smart move.

What kind of superstar do they need, IYO? Take the Spurs best player from last year...does substituting Kawhi Leonard for Carroll make them legit contenders?

You don't know what the **** you're talking about. I live in Atlanta. I've yet to hear someone say anything good about Pero.

Irving out again. Now or never for the Hawks if they're going to capitalize. Even if they can't win the series, they can try and prolong it. Could help the Warriors, assuming they advance(they will). I was wondering how serious Irving's problem is so I looked it up.

How long will the effects it last?

The effects of patellar tendinopathy vary. A tendon that is only mildly inflamed and has just started to hurt may improve within a few weeks. A tendon that is significantly inflamed and has been painful for a long time may take up to a few months to improve. You need to stop doing the activities that cause pain until your tendon has healed. If you continue doing activities that cause pain, your symptoms will return and it will take longer to recover.

That's what comes up when you look up tendonitis of the knee. Could be a problem for the Cavs the rest of the playoffs? Anybody ever have to deal with an injury like that?
