2015 Longsuffering UK Football Fan Thread of Misery

That's not the point. You act like you wouldn't trade a single group (other than maybe LB) of UK's for UT's. That's silly and I'm not sure if you're overrating our team or just misguided. UT out talents us by a mile at pretty much every spot. Bottom line. That's the point I was making.
I'd take UK's offensive line over UT's all day. Boom Williams is as good as anyone in the conference. As is Garrett Johnson and Dorian Baker. UT is plenty talented but lets not act like UK has nothing.

Boom is amazing. But you're in the SEC and Hurd is just one of a bunch of talented guys. WR is actually close when I think about it. I love what Timmons, Baker, Johnson, and Bone can do. Lots of talent there.

Not to start anything but although Boom Williams is talented, he really hasn't shown a whole lot against powerhouse teams. Hurd has shown the ability to dominate games and play very well against powerhouse teams such as Oklahoma. If we had the offensive line UK has, Hurd would probably be the best running back in the SEC behind Chubb.

True point. I thought he played well for a small guy running behind a weak OL last year. 100 yards against teams like UGA and UL weren't bad. We were spreading the run more than this year since Towles/Heard were more involved. Boom this year is more featured. He'll get more times, barring injury, and I think we see him playing a bigger role as the first punch in our three running back attack.

LC I was making a point - there isn't the talent gap that traditionally exists between these two schools.

We will see what happens Nov. 1 like you said earlier but I would still disagree with this. Tennessee isn't making the most out of all they have on offense at the moment and Butch seems reluctant to play freshman right away (Kirkland will finally start this week) but there is no way anyone can follow recruiting and think that Kentucky isn't as far behind Tennessee as they usually are. Could Kentucky still give Tennessee a close game? Of course they can, we have had several games in Lexington that were very close (and even went to OT) despite the differences in talent but I would bet against it.

I disagree partially. The gap is smaller, but it's still pretty bad.

The last time I think UK was very good in terms of matching with UT was the late 40s/early 50s when they had Bryant. Even then they couldn't beat UT.

If Butch loses to Kentucky without having a UF, UGA, or Bama scalp from 2015, he will be on the hottest hot seat in America heading into 2016.

Just to drive that home a little further... Since 1965, Kentucky has beaten Tennessee 5 times (once since 1985). Among the series which have been played on an annual basis in the SEC during that time, it's the most lopsided (45-5 Tenn).

Only when Tennessee is very bad does Kentucky beat them. I don't think that's the case this year.

Boom has 4 100 yard games in a row despite splitting time with 2 other backs.

well we shall see - I can't wait

I can't say that beating Kentucky for the 30th time in the last 31 games will do anything for me as far as excitement goes. It's sort of like watching a rerun of the Andy Griffith Show at this point (with Don Knotts in b&w). I've already seen it and it has gotten very old but some of them are still funny, so I watch anyway.

Had 100+ yards against Louisville and two touchdowns. UL had a bunch of guys off that defense get drafted last year. Also had 100 yards against Georgia. He's really good. Just keep watching.

well alright 👍🏼

I'm just messing with you, really. You seem sensitive so I like pushing your buttons a bit. I think Kentucky is getting better and I really do hope you beat Florida on Saturday. Your program's history is hard to ignore though.

Very honest and truthful point.

It'll take a lot for UK to ever change the perception of our program. We need something more than just James Franklin type periods at Vandy. I'd like to believe that Stoops is here for a long time and can turn us into a team capable of winning 8 or 9 every season with the occasional contention for the east.

For all the negative things I've said about Kentucky football here... I will be a very happy (and drunk) person Saturday if you beat Florida. I hope it happens but it's just even harder to believe than Tennessee beating Florida. Hope you understand! :salute:

So, is this the Bro-Hug at the end of a long pissing match?

I grew up in Texas so I'm sort of a rare UK fan who likes football more than basketball...
