I actually think we're in better shape at QB than we were last season. And our receiver corps, which is deeper, should make the QB position easier. Especially given our running game. I'd love to have a Murray behind center, but I think we have adequate talent to at least vie for the East. Time will tell.

We must be looking at two totally different teams. Alas, we shall see when the games are played. I think you guys will be a one dimensional train wreck.

They won 1 more game than we did last year, had an easier schedule than us, and just lost their QB.

Makes sense to me.

Every year ND this ND that i get damn tired of hearing about ND every year, for the last 45 FFFFFFFFING years, ALL I HEAR EVERY YEAR THAT SOME DUMB AZZ PREDICTS THEM TO WIN THE NC, all i can say is FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF ND, who in the H@LL are they, i wish we could play them.:banghead2:

TCU will get in over Baylor -- I am guessing Vols in Citrus or Outback this season --- MCB is for 6-6 teams

Up front I'll say that you have the deepest roster and are the favorite.

But I'm not quite sure I understand or buy your comment about being deeper or in better shape at WR. UGA obviously likes to throw to the TE's and RB's which should be strong for you... but out of the 142 receptions by WR's last year, 85 went to Srs. Mitchell returns with 31 catches coming off an injury and should be a stud but your next highest total from a returning WR is 6 catches.

That sounds pretty young to me... which usually doesn't help a new QB at all.

Financially makes no sense. Nashville and the MSB organizers want a team whose fan base will travel heavily (Vols fans do), and stay a couple-few nights (many Vols fans wouldn't...when they live 2 1/2 hours away). Nah, they're financially more savvy than that.

My guess would be either the playoffs (hey, we go 9-3 and sneak into the SEC CG, then every big goal is only one 60-minute game further away than the one before it), or the Sugar or Citrus Bowl. I think we'll be seen as the 3rd or 4th best team in the SEC at the end of the year, and that's if we don't win the SEC CG. :)

From this point on, every year is a potential championship year for the Vols.

I like Dobbs but do not believe the season goes down the tubes if Dormady or Jones have to step in.

I agree. I think that's when we have to impose our will with the running game, not put too much on the QB and just allow them to manage the game. The defense is better this year. The OL should be and better be improved also.

If lambert emerges as a starter you guys will be in for a long year, hes awful. And if you guys were so set at QB why was CMR after every FBS and FCS transfer?

FWIW, I think this is built around the notion that 5 or maybe even 6 teams from the West will be better than anyone in the East. They expect the top bowls to all be filled by the SECW except for wherever UGA lands. I think UT emerges this year... making that untrue.

Georgia Tech would mop the floor with us.

I don't see it that way at all, especially with almost a month to prepare. I'll give Tech credit that they finished very strong last year, but they also lost to Duke and UNC. Their scheme is what makes them difficult to play, not their talent. We are more talented than Georgia Tech and I would expect us to win a tough game.

Yeah, really good point, SJT. I think you're dead-on right. That's how they wrote it...and that's how they'll get it wrong.

Balance is going to return to the SEC, with the Vols in the lead role...hopefully strongly supported by Georgia, Mizzou, and (eventually) Florida.
