I don't know where you are placing Creamer and Wharton, but it's easy to see that Butch and Co. want WR.

So 3 is low unless you have both players at diff. positions

They are considered ATH. I see us taking 3 WRs, but 4 ATH.

those 4 ATH would be
Wharton
Creamer
Berry (Evan)
Truitt

1 QB
3 RB
4 WR (Vic)
2 TE
4 OL
5 DL (Creamer)
5 LB
5 DB
1 K

That's 30. Not sure where we trim one to get to 29, DL or LB I suppose. We really need 35 this class. It's going to be quite the numbers crunch, quite a few really good players we're recruiting are going to be told they don't have a spot when it comes time.

Trim 1 RB and I think we'll have the perfect scholarship distribution providing great depth where we need it.

For the remaining 15 or so spots I think we should just get the 15 best players possible, regardless of their position. Obviously I don't mean we take 15 DBs, but within reason we just need to get as much talent on the team as possible and sort it out later. We don't have huge depth at any position right now so IMO we're not in a position to be picky as far as the positions we sign in this class.

We need playmakers more so than any certain position and as CBJ has repeatedly said about the current players the staff are identifying the playmakers on the team and will find a way to get them on the field. I think we should take the same approach with recruiting

Thoughts?

With Jabo not getting in I think they take 3 RB's. Especially if someone the staff sees as elite wants to commit. I hope it's the JUCO RB.

Kiffin agrees with this thought process.

I am on my phone so I can't look up, but how do these projected numbers fit in with what we have coming back in 2014?

Have you actually looked at the roster?

We already have 4 quarterbacks on our roster. Why sign another one?

Worley was graduate after the 2014 season. Peterman will graduate after the 2016 season. If not red-shirted Ferguson & Dobbs will graduate after the 2016 season or the 2017 season, if red-shirted.

Only one q.b. can play at a time and only one can hold the clipboard at a time. So, I see the purpose of having 3 q.b.'s on the roster but not 5.

Unless we completely strike out on all of our QB targets, its good to take a QB in every class. It's easy to go from tons of qbs to no qbs, look at Notre Dame now.

+1 Read an article on TOS that Butch was shocked Dooley only had 2 scholarship quarterbacks on the roster odds are when you have more then enough you don't have an issue with depth long term. Attrition and injury take a huge chunk out of numbers. Look at the Oline. We are trying to cover that for next year when we have a mass exodus of talent.

If we're taking a qb
just to take a qb then I agree. However if you can sign the #3 QB in the country, then we take him.
