2014 Roster Breakdown

I thought OH-Vol was talking about Christian not Paul

He might have been, I thought of Paul. Must-read on my part, probably. But I still don't think I've heard anyone think of PH when taking about our receiving future. I think he's a bit overlooked.

17 WRs and 8 DTs.

SMH.

since only 2 DTs are usually on the field at 1 time, its not that bad IMO. thats 4 rotations. with our new offense, we will see 3-5 receivers on the field at 1 time. thats 3-5 rotations, not including special teams.

Interesting.. we need more DTs and DEs mainly as expected. And yeah that's a load of WRs

Our DT depth after this season is downright scary. Seeing it on paper makes it real. We need to get a few beasts at DT the next two classes.

I put this in the recruiting forum to better understand our needs for the 2014 and 2015 classes and how these players will fit into our roster. Also gives us a look at where we could see potential attrition. I won't assume redshirts for any players. This breakdown does assume all of our current commits come here, and that Dews greyshirts. No walk-ons included as this is a focus on scholarships. I will assume that AJ and Tiny leave early. Our last few spots will be predicted with asterisks.

That would give us 90 scholarship players so obviously we will have to experience the typical attrition to get to 85. I definitely see a few spots that should open up. Hope everyone likes the breakdown, it's exciting to look at our future roster.

Great job tuck. Thanks for the info.

How come no one gives Harris any credit? Kid is just a true frosh...hell, even Bowles is just a RS Fr.

I am talking about Paul Harris. I am just saying there are not enough passes to go around to keep everyone happy.

I do not know who it will be, but certainly a 4* recruit who is 8th on the depth chart will be inclined to look around.

Harris and Bowles are just a couple who may end up being recruited over. Could add Blanc, Smith etc.. but they are local kids.

Aaron Medley's ranking went up. He's now the #1 kicker in the country according to ESPN and other sites. I'm excited about the kicking game!

IMO
-Wharton will play DB
-Could easily see a few transfers for those who get buried down the depth chart (Bowles, Harris...)

From everything I have seen on Vic is he is a return specialist and much better suited to play WR then his second best would be safety. Really think he excels as a slot receiver in this offense.

King is a TE, we have an insane % of our roster wrapped up in WR/TEs!

Creamer better not end up on Offense, can anyone who will get buried in the depth chart move? Meredith, Blanc, Bowles etc..?

Op is right. King just got moved to lb

Creamer likely a de

Biggest de likely moved to dt

also why did you put a Berry at RB?

In a recent interview with the Berry brothers, (sorry, don't have it right now, it might be in their threads) Evan mentioned he might prefer to play RB. Think he is concerned about the new rules and ejections for hits.
