I put this in the recruiting forum to better understand our needs for the 2014 and 2015 classes and how these players will fit into our roster. Also gives us a look at where we could see potential attrition. I won't assume redshirts for any players. This breakdown does assume all of our current commits come here, and that Dews greyshirts. No walk-ons included as this is a focus on scholarships. I will assume that AJ and Tiny leave early. Our last few spots will be predicted with asterisks.

That would give us 90 scholarship players so obviously we will have to experience the typical attrition to get to 85. I definitely see a few spots that should open up. Hope everyone likes the breakdown, it's exciting to look at our future roster.

Where is neiko creamer?

NM see him in the LB. looked at receiver, TE and DE. I think those are the best options. But who knows.

Interesting.. we need more DTs and DEs mainly as expected. And yeah that's a load of WRs

You can take wilson off of potential cb candidates. We didn't make his top 5.

Also, some players will likely be redshirted this year. Won't affect the amount of players on scholarship, but would change how many are in each class and how many we need to take in the future. Good work though

DT is ridiculously thin as we all have known.
Other than Carr and O'Brien we have nothing beyond whoever comes in this class.
Our remaining spots need to be an O-lineman, 2 DE's and 3 DT's.
Could add one corner if elite.

Why does everyone forget about Saulsberry? He wasn't a superstar or anything, but he played decently last year.

When did Justin King move to LB? Did that happen in the spring? I must have forgotten about it. I checked the official roster, and he is indeed listed as a LB. Hope he can help out there. Seems like a great kid.

Numbers-wise, I see big needs on the O-line and CB. We can start evaluating talent needs mid way through this season as we see how our depth looks.

King is a TE, we have an insane % of our roster wrapped up in WR/TEs!

Creamer better not end up on Offense, can anyone who will get buried in the depth chart move? Meredith, Blanc, Bowles etc..?

Hey nice breakdown.
We will really have that many WRs?
Did I just count 17?
Dang, spread them out...

17 is a bunch of receivers. But not that much over the ordinary 12-14 most teams carry. Alabama has 15 and Georgia 14. With Johnson, Lauderdale, and Jackson coming on board from the JUCO ranks, you have to wonder what our coaches think of the abilities of the players they inherited.

Just a guess. Looking at the numbers we will be fine at WR, TE, and DE.

I hadn't seen that yet, thanks. Yes many of our guys will probably get redshirts, but I didn't feel like I could predict those correctly.

Greg Grieco is on scholarship now at LB.

Nice catch I'm not sure how I left him out. I do not expect him to be on scholarship next year though with the numbers being the way they are.

also why did you put a Berry at RB?

Evan has stated he is playing offense so it's either RB or WR and we have 17 of those. I couldn't stomach putting another there.

IMO
-Wharton will play DB
-Could easily see a few transfers for those who get buried down the depth chart (Bowles, Harris...)

How come no one gives Harris any credit? Kid is just a true frosh...hell, even Bowles is just a RS Fr.

You know it will be interesting to see how it works for us stacking the deck at WR and QB. I would guess that Butch and staffs evaluation skills have to be pretty spot on at certain positions.
