“I think my strengths are my speed and my length,” said the 6-foot-7, 215-pound Featherston, who has a 7-foot-3 wingspan. “I also read the offensive linemen and anticipate the play before it happens. We watch a lot of film on the other teams, so I’m prepared for what they do.”

Not surprisingly, Featherston is generating interest from numerous college programs.

“The latest offer I have is Tennessee,” he said. “I also have an offer from (North) Carolina. LSU, East Carolina, Clemson, Duke, Nebraska, Alabama, Louisville, Ohio State, and Maryland are also recruiting me. I think the next offer will be from East Carolina, LSU, or Louisville.” Scout

This kid is listed as the #1 player in NC. Early offers are from Clemson, UNC, and UT. I really hope this new staff can get us back in NC.

similar to carter, featherston has a tremendous frame. He posted a confirmed 38-inch vertical leap at a nike combine last spring and had a big season on the field for his high school. Also impressive is his ability at 6-foot-7, 215 pounds to slide inside and battle interior offensive linemen. Featherson is just starting to be noticed in terms of recruiting, but clemson, north carolina and tennessee have already moved in with offers.

Clemson, North Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina State and Virginia Tech have verbally offered. Alabama, LSU, Florida and many others are showing interest.

He's now been to Clemson, North Carolina and North Carolina State. A trip to Tennessee could be next.

"(Running backs) coach (Jay) Graham is after me hard," Featherston said. "So far they have a pretty good group of coaches. I like all of the coaches I talk to really."

I have a friend whose dad coached in college football and said that the 2 main reasons a kid goes to a school is 1 in state and 2 within 150 miles. Like this kid, it bothers me we have gotten very few from the Carolina's over the years, especially when north has weaker football programs than us. I don't know, just venting. I'm sure ill get slammed

We did just fine this year IMO. We did get Ferguson and North

"Lorenzo Featherston may be undersized and skinny, but he is great off the edge and he uses his length to make plays," Rivals.com national analyst Mike Farrell said. "And the way he can extend his arms, even being outweighed oftentimes by 70, 80 pounds, he can negate that advantage. He will be a terror once he fills out."

Good lord almighty, with that wingspan it'd be tough for even tiny to get his hands on him. A lot of holding calls in opponents future playing against this kid. Could be a terror at Te too.
