6'5/200
Robbinsdale, Minnesota
Robinsdale Cooper High School
Rashad is a legit 5* prospect and every school in the country wants him. Has interest in UT, but not sure how much. The staff just visited him last night. Has offers from Baylor, Florida State, Kansas, Maryland, Syracuse, Texas, Wisconsin, Louisville, and has drawn interest from UNC, Duke, and Kentucky. Rashad is a consensus top 15 player and is going to be one of the more sought out recruits in the country for 2014.
ESPN Evaluation
Strengths:
Vaughn has a terrific frame with broad shoulders and very long arms. He handles the ball well in the open court and can slash his way to the rim in transition. In addition, he can stick the 3-point shot, especially off the catch.
Weaknesses:
Vaughn needs to continue to add to his evolving skill set. His shot is solid, but it could get more consistent. In addition, he needs to get better with the ball when defenders get into him-especially when going left. Also, learning how to move without the ball to free himself for the shot would help his game. In the half court set, getting into a triple threat position and utilizing the jab step to get by his defender will raise his stock.
Bottom Line:
Vaughn is an intriguing prospect with a terrific frame. With hard work and continued attention to detail and his overall savvy for the game will make him into a solid high major player.
