2014 Current Commits/Targets

Heard Coach Doug Matthews yesterday say that recruiting was going extremely well. Said that everybody feels very good about the 7 public verbals that we currently have. However, he said we actually have 12-15 "in the fold" right now and that the coaches have asked a few of them not to go public yet, for various reasons, maybe cause they're recruiting other players at the same position, etc.

Felt very, very good about recruiting, Butch and the staff. Not so good about the current talent level, depth, prospects for winning a whole lot this year and next.

Makes me happy and worried. Good to know we have more almost "in hand" but worry that even if we get the other commits, kids may feel mislead if there's a lot of recruits at their same position. Dangit, I just wanna get back to the top, is that too much!?

The better the competition, the better our team will be.

We need moar defense. Offense is looking great but defense needs upgrades.

I look forward to more defensive recruits as well (especially lb's and on the line). And, I believe there coming. Nice haul on offense thus far and in the secondary.

I love it when Tennessee dominates on defense.

Some chatter going on from TOS that we could possibly have gotten another silent commit. TE Milan Richard. He's the nephew of Hershel Walker. BMoore has been recruiting this kid hard.

Yea because after this year, we will lose our starting O line saying that Bullard starts this year. Tiny is going to leave early and be the number two pick behind Jadaveon Clowney.

Well this is a bit of a stretch. First I would like to see Tiny stay onsides at the snap and not kill drive after drive with foolish offsides penalties.

His false start problem was fixed by mid-season. The only game that was really bad was the UF game, but hey I mean whatever you gotta do to down talk our most talented player, right?

Tiny will be in the top five next year. He blocked the freak Jadaveon Clowney perfectly for 59 minutes. Better than anyone in Clowney's career.

Tiny gets another shot this year. Bet that does not happen again. He owned Clowney that day.

Actually, most of the offense of line owned him that game. If you remember, South Carolina started lining him up in different positions to try to get pressure on Bray. I remember a few times they had him at noseguard over Stone.

Yep went to the right and got owned by JJ. Had some success in the interior though, but still not much.

Yep. And don't be surprised if he makes Tiny pay dearly for last season. Tiny is very good; Clowney is better. Will be a good matchup when it happens.

Tiny will handle Clowney as well this year as he did last. Clowney is a superb defender, no equal in college, but Tiny is an elite left tackle that can handle anyone in his area of assignment.
