What about long snappers Giampapa and Carr?

I know Giampapa was on scholly last year...not sure about Carr

According to my count, we currently have 67 players projected to be on scholarship next year if there are no defections (5 signees for '13 class have enrolled early). That number should significantly decrease before August 2013. The following players are candidates to be elsewhere next year (there could be others):

Does Brodus need to be added now apparently? Surprised to see a scholarship given out prior to signing day. Maybe this means there are some others leaving the team...?

It is my understanding that these recently-announed scholarships are not guaranteed for the fall and are being used because we are under the 85 number for this semester and summer.

When the WRs started piping in it became clear. They are getting a tryout to see if they should get schollies full-time. I think there are only 6 healthy WRs on campus. Their performance in the Spring game will go a long way in determining if they can stay on scholarship later.

I’m also of the opinion that some guys who have scholarships right now from the Fall may not have them next Fall. Natural attrition and player demotivation. Plus the scheme changes. Some of the veterans are gonna be playing for their tuitions, let alone their place on the depth chart.

If I understand things correctly brotus being put on scholarship has been done in order for him to be able to take part in pre season camp. Iirc last year he wasn't able to do that and thus the kicking competition wasn't open until the 1st day of class. This allows him to participate in camp and then his scholarship removed if need be once fall semester begins.

Does a player like Ayres or king need to be on scholarship if already graduated?

If they already graduated can they not just be considered walk on and play to free up 85 since already graduated

Updated with the 2013 signees. We have 81 players projected to be on scholarship in 2013.
