This one is on Dooley, not Jones, but next year he has to win these battles. I like what I see so far from Butch, he seems to get the off the field side of things. Still, though, he's an offensive coach in a league that wins with defense. I don't think these guys will ever have a problem scoring points or pulling offensive recruits. Sure he's won everywhere he's been, but the SEC difference is defense. In those other leagues, you can with offense first. That doesn't work so well in the SEC.
There is enough talent on this roster to win 7 games next year. That is a must if he wants to pull all the legacies and have a top class next year, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. I like this staff except Jancek. Martinez is fine as a position coach, but my fear is that bringing Jancek with him is what will cost him. UGA's defenses with those guys were pathetic, and that was with good talent. I'd be willing to bet that a better DC pulls at least Bell in this class.
