Don't know why Mathieu would want to play at Memphis next year since Jackson, Crawford, and Johnson are back. He will want some playing time right away. Sure, after next year he would get more time, but he can get solid minutes somewhere as a junior. If he wants local, Ole Miss could be worth watching.

Most tiger fans are saying he's a backup plan to Pookie, conditional offer on Pookie not qualifying...Dre isn't going to wait that long, he's committing in 2 weeks or less most likely.

This is truly a head scratcher. If Martin uses lack of point guard depth for an excuse anytime next year, I think I'll have to chuckle a little.

Memphis' offer is NOT conditional. I feel fairly certain tat Powell will qualify. When Jackson is gone, Powell will be a sophomare and Mathieu will be a senior. I'd love to have a senior PG. I think He'll be in Memphis next week unless he decides to commit to Pepperdine or Ole Miss before visiting. I spoke with him briefly and he seems open on the 4 favorites right now. He was disappointed that he hasn't heard from UT.

He won't because it seems he sincerely believes he doesn't need a point guard. He gave that away after the Bama game last year when he observed, "If you're a guard, you should be able to handle the ball."

Yea I think most UT fans are dissapointed as well, we could use a ready PG and there's one sitting there basically begging for a scholarship.
