2013 John Adams Article

Adams is a POS. Fulmer had 2 losing seasons in 16 years. 2005 was bad , I’ll admit that . 2008 we were trying to change the offense, because that’s what all the fans wanted. They wanted a Tebow offense. Fulmer should have stood his ground and not attempted to change it. Had to have the right players for the change. He was on his way to recruiting the right players. Got fired in the middle of the season. What a slap in the face , to a man that had spent the biggest part of his life , playing and coaching for Tennessee. The fans should have respect for this man. He loves the University of Tennessee.
Fulmer’s success owes a WHOLE lot to David Cutcliffe. Compare records with and without Cutt and you will get a much more accurate assessment

I respect the fact that he is out.

Adams gets a lot of flak, but he’s been spot on in his assessments of Fulmer and UT football over the last 15 years. Sometimes we don’t want to see what’s really going on.

Adams is 250-500 miles away from his beloved LSU and Bama.... wish he were there.... but he's right on this one.

I’m no fan of Adams, but he was spot on with this.
Yup and what did incumbent AD do to right the ship? Let's count trips to Atlanta representing the east since then... uh.. nothing but more misery. To pin all this on Fulmer is insane. Yes, he got complacent, but he's not the only one.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist by a long shot, but let's hypothetically say I was hired to coach Bama for 3 seasons after Saban's (death/retirement, whichever comes first). I'd leave a scorched earth like Pruitt did here. Phil, what were you thinking giving him a raise?

He’s not the only one but the main one.

Adams has been a piece of work for sometime. He has been the lead dog in the demise of written sports journalism in the Knoxville market in a scale of incompetence that all our ADs and coaches combined cannot approach in their fields. His bosses have failed us by keeping him in place. All I can figure is he has pictures of someone way up the corporate structure.

I dropped my subscription to the NS expressly due to him and have made it plain to an untold number of callers trying to get me to return that I would not consider it till he is gone, but in reality I guess that ship has not only sailed but sunk in really deep water.

I think definitely it's been a administrative problem at ut for years. Seems to be a musical chairs but I also believe we have major booster problems. When you go through dooley, botch, pruitt so you have went through multiple people with the same results. Kinda makes you look in the mirror and say there is probably bigger problems than just coaches

Fulmer's winning percentage against P5 opponents without Cutcliffe is right at .600. Fulmer deserves credit for his positive contributions to the program, but I wonder if they are now outweighed by the negative ones.
