Election 2013 is now over.

Gov. Chris Christi wins with 60% of the vote in NJ. He is on his way to be our next GREAT president.

McAuliffe beats Tea Party member Cuccinelli by 3% in VA

Bradley Byrne beat Tea party member Dean Young by 4% in Alabama's first congressional district on Tuesday night.

A great night for Christi, A bad night for the Tea Party.

I heard a clip of DeBlasio in New York, it sounded as though he was running against Bloomberg as if Bloomberg was some sort of ultra-right wing bogeyman.

If Bloomberg is that guy's idea of a conservative, NYC is in for Dinkins level crime and incompetence.

I agree. DeBlasio is far far left. He could set NYC back years.

Ken isn't a Tea Party guy. He is a small government conservative

The GOP establishment straight blew it tonight with Ken. He is going to lose by 2% with 7% going to a 3rd party in a state Romney lost by 4% with no 3rd party candidate. The GOP gave Ken no money after October 1st and the only support Ken got was Paul Ryan doing a webinar. A freaking webinar. Pathetic. While the Dems went all in on Terry, out spending Ken at least 10-1, sending BOTH Clinton's, 0bama/Biden and multiple others.

In 2009 the GOP spent 9 million in VA and this year they spent 3. The GOP could have spent a couple of million blasting N.VA with 0bamacare ads but didn't. They blew it

These are facts, not talking points

It was a bad night for the Tea Party, but an even worse night for the GOP establishment. They sent a signal, loud and clear, that if you go off the reservation, even if you resonate with the voters, you are on your own.

Somewhat reminiscent of the New York race from a while back when the GOP establishment backed DiDi Scosefava (forgive the spelling, I'm sure it's on the google somewhere) over a more fiscally conservative primary challenger.

The Washington Post had Ken losing by 12 and most polls had him losing by at least 7. He vastly outperformed

That is the message that I took away from it.

They have no hope in 2016 if they are going to draw a line in the sand like that.

Midterms are going to be really interesting if they continue with this plan...

TPers can't have it both ways. Can't on the one hand blast the GOP establishment as RINOs then on the other expect the establishment to fund you.

In the grand scheme it doesn't matter what the GOP does. The general dumb as hell population of the US is so out of touch they may never win the presidency again.

LOL

Your boy won as an incumbent, which always has the advantage, and he is a liberal that won in a state that elected Cory Booker as senator. There's no surprise that a liberal politician wins in a liberal state. As for the presidency, I think he suffers same fate as the last 2 liberal GOP nominees. He will lose.

He is a Tea Party guy skin.

Washington Post:

“Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli II, a tea party-aligned Republican and social conservative, lost the Virginia governor’s race to Democrat Terry McAuliffe, a flawed candidate who some Republicans were giddy about running against at the beginning of the campaign.”

Washington Post says it so it must be true. :loco:

WaPo also had Ken losing by 12 so that must be true

It looks like the Washington Post you keep mentioning was skewed.

To argue Cuccinelli was not tied to the Tea Party is beyond ridiculous.

Cuccinelli, McAuliffe call on respective party stars ahead of Tuesday's election | Fox News

The final day of campaigning in the Virginia gubernatorial race marked the candidates’ decidedly vast differences in the race, with Cuccinelli relying on a visit from fellow Tea Party-backed lawmaker Sen. Marco Rubio

From the start, the campaign shaped up to be a barometer of voters' moods and a test of whether a swing-voting state like Virginia could elect a Tea Party-style governor.

I guess you will also say Fox is wrong.

Cucccinelli was behind by 12 plus just two weeks ago

If I was a Democrat incumbunt in a red or purple state I would be scared to death

I would be scared to death if I were a Tea party candidate.

Since 10/24 the polls have varied on this race with the exception they all had McAuliffe winning with one poll Emerson College showing a 2% and one poll showing a 12% lead , the Washington Post. Five other polls had it at 6-7% . The Washington Post was an outlier poll that the far right is quoting now. The final result was a 2.5% win. Emerson College pretty much nailed this election.

I'd be scared to death if I was a Dem senator in a Red state that Romney won. There are like 7 of them

A not-particularly likeable, out-of-state Democrat won Virginia by 3%.

How does that spell doom?

I would be to if the GOP ran a good candidate. If a Tea party Candidate were to be the nominee, not so scared.

Christi just showed us how strong a good republican candidate can be in a blue state. Cuccinelli showed us how bad a tea party candidate will do in a purple state, even against a terrible dem candidate.

Ken isn't a Tea Party guy and he got outspent at least 10-1. Ken had zero support and outperformed Romney

I bring facts, you bring talking points
