On the current roster, you have 7 scholarship WRs, one of whom was a walk-on this time last year. They need 12.
There are 10 offensive linemen on the current roster. 4 of whom are will be Seniors, one of whom will be an All-World NFL-caliber Junior and flight risk. The team needs 15 offensive linemen, and they usually take two years to develop.
So, no, I dont wish those two die-hard, VFLs should look around so that we can get some REALLY AWESOME TALENT that makes it ALMOST through one full school year before completely failing out of college.
green, foster, bell, north, bryant commits would land vols around 15 in recruiting
-We have a lot more OL and Wrs on board than front 7
- I hope these two surprise me but based on the competition they have faced in high school, it will be years before they contribute
- In all honesty this roster is the weakest in the SEC and is in dire need of impact players
There are 11 open slots at WR and OL. The six openings at WR are being filled with Harris, Jenkins, and Smith (who you want to get rid of). There are 5 openings at OL, being filled by Skipper (whos looking around), Wiesman, Sanders, and Kendrick (another player you want to get rid of). Since math is not your strongest subject, it appears, that leaves 3 open spaces at WR. And I mentioned Skippers shaky commitment, that could mean that there will be two open slots by the end of January.
And since history is obviously not one of your strongest subjects, the reason were in this mess is because of years of not taking enough WRs and OLs. But great idea, cut the guys who want to be here to bring in guys...like Taylor and Phillips...who dont wanna be here. Great idea.
I am not sure why you are getting angry and resorting to insults? Math is my strong subject, I have an MBA in Finance and am a Director in Retail Finance at age 30. More than your Redneck *ss can say. I realize WRs and OL are extreme positions of need!
Simply say I would like to see a class resembling:
4 WRs (North + another, drop Smith)
5 OL (Memphis and JC guy in place of Kendrick)
6 Dbs
2 TEs
1 QB
2 RB
4 DL (3 more, drop Sanders)
3 LBs
Sure it won't shake out this way, but can only hope
You can bet that Smith and Kendrick will be a part of this class. It would make ZERO sense for CBJ to talk about making the state of Tennessee his #1 priority in recruiting then cut loose a couple local long time commits. It's just not going to happen.
I hears deys all 2 stars and parently dats lesdan 3 stars so we is goin to da mac. Jk. That just seems to be said in every thread right now
Really though, it's incredible how ridiculously strident some posters are in saying that CBJ is "still recruiting at Cincy," even though he's got us in on more top talent that Dools could despite only being on the job for a little over a month.
