2013 Current Commits/Targets (UPDATED)

Between Charlie High and Ferguson I'd take Ferguson...and nothing personal I don't sniff the Knoxville High School glue and think every kid is D1 Tennessee material. It's sweet but it's not how you build winning football programs.

I agree 100%. Riley is the much better QB. With that said, CH walking on would not hurt anyone. Maybe 2 years from now he proves he can play in the SEC and goes on scholarship. Maybe he does not and his being a Vol never costs UT a thing. If I could add a QB to the depth chart that was setting every passing record in the state and it not count against the 25 or so I could take in this class, I'd be all for it.

I stopped sniffin glue 2 weeks ago.

Made some significant updates and removed players that it seems UT is not a real factor. All help is appreciated and helps keep this thread helpful down the stretch.

Dont look now people, but Butch has our beloved Vols ranked #25 on Rivals!!! Just checked. How on earth does Scout have us at #43?? Scout hates UT lol They always have our players ranked as 3*'s when they are 4*'s on every other recruiting service site!

HONOR THY VOLS...CHERISH THEM...

If they are 4s, they are 4s. With Scout showing them lower it gives our opponents the chance to underestimate us.

Somehow pull Lawson away from the little a and get BELL and GREEN, plus a few more good young men, you talking about setting up a top 5 class next year, we will be on our way back to the glory days, playing in a game like tonight, getting fired up think bang my head against the wall or do something else stupid, got hope now. GO VOLS

Nine more spots to fill.

North
Lawson
Bell
2 RBs
1 DE
1 DT
2 LBs

This is assuming everything else stays the same (I don't think it will).

I think we may have to accept we will probably not sign as many LBs and DLs as we would like given what we have now.

We are taking one more TE but losing Jackson?

North
Lawson
Bell
Crayton(I wish)
2 RBS
2 LB's (who I have no idea)
Morris

OCI, since I haven't seen CP officially declare for draft but have seen where he's most likely gone, the 27 spots available is that with CP still on the team in 2013 or gone to draft?

The 27 spots is the most we can sign. To do that, we will have to have some players currently on scholarship leave, CP included.

Are we completely screwed at LB this year?

2 of the freshman LB's that got hurt last year and sat out, we were very high on. Meaning they would have played often. We will be better off than we think, but we still need at least 2 more in this class imo...

I think we will be fine on the field this year at LB. Depth is a big issue though.

Visit Update:

"It appears that Lawson is going to visit the 18th now with Jenkins and Kamara."

Good news and thanks OCI for your work on this thread. I enjoy reading

There appears to be a last minute rush of OVs. I take that as a good sign. I doubt that the beauty of the ville of Knox is the attraction, particularly since there is no longer a Krystal on the Strip.

Bynum is an MLB. I doubt Lewis is going to be an OLB now that we're moving back to the 4-3.

Given we're in the 4-3, I think our LB roster looks like the following: Bynum, Harris, Johnson, Fugate, Sapp, and Vereen (EE). I think Maggitt can play both DE and OLB. I think Lewis is a DE long-term. Jaq is going back to DE.

Our LBs do not look good right now.
